Games with unfortunate/awesome abbreviations

Trails in the Sky is something to be seen. I'm sure they were not thinking how that turned out.

Console fanboy wars were always confusing when GoW was thrown around.

Destiny Rise of Iron: I will never not see it as return on investment

God of War and Gears of War. Making forum members go "um which game are you talking about again?" since 2006.

Honorable mention: Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat. Less confusion since discussion of both games in the same thread is rare.

I call Mario Kart 8 "MaKa8" and Mortal kombat "MK"

It kinda works XD

This doesn't mean anything to anyone, but when I worked at Gamestop, my friend and I would always label a used copy of Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, BOFDQ. It was always fun watching employees not in the know try to find the game when a customer wanted to buy it.

Not an abbreviation really, but how many times have you all seen Assassin's Creed refered to as "AssCreed"?

This also reminds me of working at Gamestop. When game names first started being printed out on the label, Hitman 2 was cut off to say, Hitman 2: Silent Ass.

Apparently the abbreviation of Knights of the Eternal Throne (the next SW:tOR expansion) means defecate in German

It takes its name from the acronyn of the international football federation, but FIFA literally means "has sex" in argentinian slang.

Adventure of Link.

Game already gets enough shit, and it has to deal with having the same abbreviation of a crappy Internet provider.

Star Fox has Star Fox Adventures which is abbreviated SFA, and the next game in the series was Star Fox Assault, since SFA was already taken, that left us with SFAss.
