Games worth every penny at full price in 2015

Nuclear Throne, Bloodborne (and DLC), Dying Light. A lot of content, replay value and fun. My 3 GOTY.

I predict Persona 5, Dark Souls III and No Man Sky for next year (and maybe Driveclub Season 2 if its still a thing).

Castle in the Darkness - Awesome steam Metroidvania

Odallus - Another awesome Steam metroidvania

Undertale

Halo 5 (not a popular opinion, but that Multiplayer has me like whoa)

Hearthstone

Rainbow Six Siege (Also not a popular opinion, but the game is solid and there is a year of free DLC planned)

Any game that gave me a quality 60 hours + probably should make it automatically. That would be:

Witcher 3
MGS V
Fallout 4 (haven't hit the 60 hour mark yet but pretty obvious I'm going to)

Life is Strange is also an incredibly good value at $20 considering each of the 5 chapters took me around 4 hours to complete for a total of 20 hours of playtime. And that would've been longer if I went after all the photos.

As controversial as it may be, I really think The Order was worth every cent spent on launch. It was a long time since I've been so hyped for a game and despite its problems it was an incredible ride.

I almost double dipped when it was on sale and my disc is with my brother.

Honorable mentions:

Halo 5
Super Mario Maker
Batman Arkham Knight (except for the season pass)

I know, but I still paid $40 for it when I got it, LOL.
OP makes thread, breaks rule right in the first post.

:p

Mine:
-Splatoon
-Yoshi's Woolly World
-Super Mario Maker
-Xenoblade Chronicles X
-Guitar Hero Live
-Skylanders SuperChargers

And honorable mention to:
-FAST Racing Neo
-Affordable Space Adventures
-Steamworld Heist
Indies at under $20 each, and with more content and polish that many $60 games.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Over 200 hours of free online play later, plus another 100+ logged in single player, it was one of only two games I bought at full price this year as I just didn't need anything else.

To be clear, full price for me is GCU price (so like 48 bucks), but games I bought for full price that I was happy to do so:

Witcher, Ori, Tomb Raider, Halo, think that about covers it. I didn't buy Syndicate until later at a deep discount, but it would've been worth full retail if I had.

While I can understand the love all of these huge AAA titles are (deservedly) getting here, I have to go with Life Is Strange. $20 for one of the most atmospheric and impactful games I've played in years? Pretty much a no-brainer for me this year.

Although I get nearly all games on a pretty good discount day 1 (30% off), these are the ones I would've payed full price for and consider worth it, at least the ones I can remember right now:

Rocket League (would've bought it for $60 honestly)
Black Ops 3
Bloodborne
Tearaway Unfolded
Metal Gear Solid V (despite my disappointment with it)

Witcher 3
Monster Hunter 4U
Super Mario Maker
Fallout 4
Bloodborne
Rare Replay
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Life Is Strange
Yoshis Wooly World

Bloodborne, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 for me. Multiple playthroughs and over 100 hours of playtime for each game. I got MGS:V and Rise of the Tomb Raider for "free" (one with my new graphics card and other in Xbox Bundle) but would buy them for full price and not feel bad about it :)

Bloodborne for me. Pretty much all I played this year. A masterpiece of combat, level design, lore, pacing and presentation with PvP and the best DLC of the year to boot.

I really do not think Bloodborne is worth 60$ you can finish the game it self in like less than 3 hours not even being a professional speed runner.
Maybe 6 if you count the extra bosses. Game is very light on content.

Witcher 3 on the other hand is worth it, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.

What a silly argument. If you play the game absolutely perfectly, know where everything is and the fastest way to beat the game and skip half of the content, you can beat the game in 3 hours. You could say the same thing about a lot of games. It took me over 40 hours the first time, and I've played through it 3 times now. I've spent well over 100 hours playing Bloodborne, theres plenty of content.

The Taken King
Halo 5
FO4
Bloodborne

Haven't had a chance for TW3 yet or any WiiU games, but if the NX has backwards compatability I'll be picking one up Day One.

Dying Light, Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Everyone Gone to Rapture.....

Might be forgetting some. I got some deals on some of those but they're definitely worth the full price of admission.

Xenoblade Chronicles X problably. It's by far my most played game this year, even topping Mario Kart 8, at 105 hours in the past 3 weeks.

Even though I finished the storyline, I'm still discovering new things at every corner. I've barely begun all the online mission stuff as well.

Uhhh.... I'd say you're the exception there.

Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, Yakuza 5, Black Ops 3.

All offer an enormous amount of QUALITY and CONTENT. There are some I'm probably missing, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Bloodborne
Witcher
Life is Strange
SOMA
MGS V
and Until Dawn (I was a little worried about this one, but multiple playthroughs made it worth it).

Bought:

Broken Age (Backer)
Invisible Inc
The Witcher 3
Massive Chalice (Backer)
Fallout 4

No regrets at all there. I got tired of Fallout 4, but I got 50h out of it before that.

Yeah.I'm near the end of NG++ myself. Haven't finished the DLC yet and still have to do some Chalice dungeons. So many different weapons and builds I haven't tried yet.

I've invested over 200 hours in it and I come back for more cause no other game gives me such a rush when playing.

I've never felt so out of touch re: a game as I do with The Witcher 3. I just absolutely hate the combat system. Maybe the problem is me, but every time I give The Witcher 3 another chance, I fight a pack of dog things, spend half my time trying to change targets, survive with 1/3 of my life left, and then log off to play something else.

Bloodborne.

Witcher 3(minus the performance issues that took months to fix)

Here's one you won't find anywhere else:

Toukiden Kiwami

I've spend more than 100 hours on this game alone, and it was worth every penny

These are all PS4 versions BTW

Halo 5 - just for the God tier multiplayer. Playing arena is just amazing and although it could have done with more maps, as a die hard halo multiplayer fan I'm enjoying every minute of it and would quite happily pay full price for just that part of it.

I wil echo Bloodborne like everyone else.

However I wasnt that into the Old Hunter. Give me my money back.

The Witcher 3 is my only choice, in the standard box you received a nice thank you letter from the developers, a nice fold out map, the soundtrack on cd, a couple of dlc codes, a promise to give free dlc codes for the next 12 weeks ......,
Most games you get nothing in the box, CD Projekt have a fan for life with that gesture.

A few games that I felt had the best value proposition this year:

Dirt Rally (startet at around $25 on their website)

Cities: Skylines $29.99

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition $39.99

And you can get them at a discount now, ridiculous.
