Games you have bought and then played once

Saint's Row. Having to do those stupid side missions in order to progress in the story is one of the worst design decisions ever.

I managed to play Dead Rising a few times before my masochistic nature was subdued.

Final Fantasy XII, played it once. Never played it again.

I played 30 hours into the game, non-stop. Then got a point and said "screw this, I'm done with this game". That was about a year ago. Last night I pop it into my PlayStation to have a look see at the game. I realized why I liked it so much (battle system) then realized why I stopped playing it (didn't like the story or characters). Except for Ashe: she's smoking hot.

I bought a lot of games that I haven't played at all... but the most recent game I bought and played once is Gears of War 2. Didn't like it in the slightest, not to mention it crashed on me after 10 min of playing. I'm thinking of trading it in for SO2 PSP or Order of Eccelsia.

Ninja Gaiden 2; Elebits; Zack & Wiki; Wario Ware; DQ: Swords; Folklore; Rolando; DQM: Joker....

Fallout 3 & Midnight Club LA have eaten all of my recent game time.

Blastworks for Wii. I planned on making some levels, but after playing the game once I just put the game on the shelf and never went back to it, maybe one day I will.

At least I only paid 10 bucks for it.

One day I bought Roadsters and Carrier from EB Games for the Dreamcast and returned both in the same day. This was back when they had that 7 day quality exchange policy though.

Baiten Kaitos Origins. I played it for about 20 minutes just to try it out and haven't played it again. Not because I hated it, I had other games I wanted to go through first at the time and just didn't get back to it since then.

BIA Hells Highway .
I had high hopes after looking at game play movies but the control style didn't work at all for me , i hate it .

magna carta for the ps2...i played maybe 10min of it and couldn't get into it....yet i still have it, may play it when i'm 30 or something.

lost oddessy, played an hour into it, but can't get into it, maybe later on...willing to give it another chance.

Grandia 3, awesome battle system for the first 2hrs, but couldn't bring myself to go forward.

Superman for the 360, yeah, a superman game that i had high hopes for....played maybe an hour till it got tedious.

Mission Impossible - Bought it because it had something like 97% in Mean Machines Sega and was supposed to be the system's best game.... perhaps my youth had something to do with it but I was bored stupid by it

Eternal Champions - Again, I'll blame this on Mean Machines Sega. It got 96% in their magazine, same as SF2. Couldn't understand the hype behind it as it was nowhere near SF2 level. At least they admitted that they had been a bit too kind with their score a few months later.

Tropico - Not as much fun as the box led on. I was looking for a comical management sim in the style of Theme Hospital, but found a lot of it far too convuluted.

Age of Empires 3 - Big fan of the first and Age of Kings was a mainstay of LAN gaming in uni. But when those playing cards came up I just gave up.

Tony Hawk Proving Ground - Had been playing THPS3 on the 360 and found it cheap so thought I would take a look at how the series had progressed. Found it hadn't, sold it.

Lost Odyssey - Haven't even played it, it is sat on my shelf in mint condition. Bought it since it cost a fiver. I hear it has a great story, but the random battles of jrpgs just really get on my nerves.

Valkyria Chronicles. I bought it on many people's advice, loved the gameplay but never really got into it because of the story.

I'm sure there's more, but that's the most apparent one to me at the moment.

I imported Captain Rainbow and only played it once.
And come to think of it, Halo 3 as well.

Pixel Junk Monsters - its not that I don't like it.... well I don't know.... maybe tower defense games don't grab me... I do intend to play it again sometime... eh...
This is what immediately come to mind for me.

You people must be rich. I've never had a game in shrinkwrap for more than a few minutes, let alone buying a game and it just sitting there in shrink-wrap.

Yeah, it boggles the mind. I don't buy a game unless I really want to play it. If I know I'm not going to have time to play a game, then I'll wait until I do (by which time I'll probably be able to get the game at a significantly cheaper price).

All I can say to you people is you'll feel a lot happier with your hobby if you see yourself as a game player instead of a game collector. Throw the need to collect out of your mindset... it's pointless. No one cares about your collection, how big it is or what games are in it. No one.

And I say this in experience. Been there done that, it made me loath gaming more and more. Now I love gaming. Because I play games first, then buy new ones.

Dead Rising
Lost Planet
Crackdown
Fable 1
PGR 3
Mechassault 1 & 2
Warhawk
Ninja Gaiden, NJ Black, Sigma
SSM:Brawl
GRAW
SOCOM

Literally played them once and got rid of them the same day

GTA4

A whole shitload on Steam, but most of my Steam purchases are impulse buys, on the cheap anyways, so I don't want to count those.
