Games you like ruined by long loading time...

Max Payne 3 and it's cutscenes disguised as loading times. Look, I get it, I really do, the story is integral to the experience but god damn it I finished the game several times and can quote it by heart just let me play please!
You know there is a mod to skip, right? Better late than never...

Shadow of Mordor on PS3
Every time you hit pause you'll get a 30 sec black screen before showing the menu.
Coupled with the nemesis system which kind of forced you to do this...

Did anyone play stuntman for the ps2?

Amazing concept, but if you deviated from the Director's stunt, you had to start over, so it was a series of loading screens and the loading was very long.

After getting a Series X, my tolerance for loading has gone completely down the crapper. It feels like consoles are a generation behind what they want to achieve, because I can't go back to minute or longer loading screens after this, and if that is what happens when the power of these consoles is fully utilized, I am going to cry.

Edit: I'm sure it's the same for PS5.

Probably been mentioned but Prey on Ps4 and Bloodborne (pre patch)
Also Multi-loads on C64 if anyone remembers them. 5 seconds of gameplay interspersed with 15 mins of loading, over and over again.

GT5 on PS3 was unplayable for me.
On the other hand, SFA3 on PSone had cool art between loadings and they actually enhanced the port.

Honestly, I really like this game, so I tolerated 20 seconds of loading every time I go to a (small) part of the city...

Is there a game you like but with loads almost impossible to tolerate?

All the old resident evil games with the door animations between rooms. Absolutely cant stand it.

MHW has terrible loading on the PS4, it can really break the flow especially when you're grinding. If I wasn't a big fanboy I would've probably qiven up on the game or waited on the PC version.

Sea of Thieves was a nightmare on One S. I never jumped in for a quick 20 minute sail around due to it. Fucking brilliant loading times on Series S though.

Yesss!!! Friend who only has a PS4 came over recently and I was hoping between my PS5 games and using the cards to start the games in specific areas to show her how you just instantly load into everything. Can't go back, won't go back.

Street Fighter V. I enjoy the game, but it takes forever to do anything. Some of that is the internet connectivity required when initially loading, in the menus, etc.

GTA Online is the worst offender.

"Playing" it for 2h means 1/4 of this time watching loading screens. Its ridiculous.

Every Bethesda game on consoles is bad due to loadings every time you enter a new building, which happens often. Exploring Fallout 4 on a PS4 sucks so much.

Opening doors on RE Remake got boring real fast.

It was read dead redemption for me. Don't get me wrong I still love the game, but my days getting in that coach to 'fast travel' was painful every time.
Man that SSD I had in my PS4 really helped because anytime I hear about loading times in games I played I often wondered if we played the same game. Blood borne was loading in 10 seconds for me, 25 before the update.

Call of Cthulhu on Nintendo Switch. A game you should fire up in the morning if you want to play at night. Calling it atrocious isn't enough.

GTA Online.
Came to say this. As if it isn't enough with the loading times it's the insistence to boot you all the way back out to single player if someone leaves or disconnects from a heists lobby and you have to start from scratch. Completely ruined the game for me so that I don't even bother any more.

Pillars of eternity 2. Ps4.
Loading times were literally the reason I stopped playing. The absolute worst I've ever encountered.
Damn, that sucks, I was thinking about playing PoE on the console. I wonder if there's any chance to speed them up on the PS5 or is it simply a design flaw with how the content is loaded.

I would love this to be rebooted because that trial and error gameplay style is much more appreciated now post Hotline Miami

GTA5 on PS4. Most recently I was going back to reply old missions to get Gold rankings. But the loading times to both load a mission and when you come OUT of a mission are minutes long somtimes! It was very frustrating!

At least it has cool loading music...

Eventually I gave up and will revisit getting that trophy once I can finally get a PS5

My fucking God this had atrocious load times, but a good game IMO (and got quite difficult later in the game IIRC, it's been a long time)

Not totally ruined, but Atelier Ryza 2 on Switch is awful.

When you enter the game and when you start to play, almost 5 minutes passed. So, it sucked (and only the first 1/3 of the game are actually good).

Last year i replayed fallout 4 and the load times were about 4 minutes long, this is on an ssd btw. I come to find out that loading is tied to framerate for some fuck off reason (this is at 60fps too). So i had to get a mod the unlocked the framerate during load screens and dropped loading to 10 seconds

The loading in this game drove me up the wall. Especially considering the game is designed around a hub area but it's broken up in multiple little instances. There is a ton of backtracking so you usually have to go somewhere and get about 4 loading screens, go back and get about 4 loading screens, go someplace else and get 5 loading screens..

It was insanely bad and ruined the experience.
Basically the same "experience" with Beat Down...
