Gamesradar Xenosaga Episode III Review

I wonder what's next....mmm, Lloyd-Kratos yaoi book as preorder gift for Tales of Symphonia 2 (new ToA name)?

Seriously, 'F*ck you Namco Hometek' tops and surpass 'F*ck you EGM'.

omg, that sounds like George Lucas fans....

At least Lucas had the balls to make the last movie rated R when the demands of the story called for that. Here we've got Namco Hometek neutering things... god this makes me angry, because I wanted to buy the game, have it in my collection, and finish out this series in peace and happiness.

You know what I hate the most? All the complaining is in vain. They wouldn't change anything for the fans, not now, not ever.

Yup. They don't give a shit about their fans -- they've proven that time and again. It's one thing when they simply don't include something because of budgetary restraints, but to go back and actually remove so much AGAIN... god dammit.

And it's also even worse because we're the ones funding this series! We bought more Xenosaga than Japan, dammit.

I believe this is the answer you are looking for Himuro...

The phrase "Namco should know better" doesn't even apply either I guess, since.... we all know they DON'T know any better. :(

Because Namco wanted the T rating so damn bad (for the sales I'd imagine) they might have completely ruined quiet a few scenes. :(

They probably don't care about the few people will know about the censoring. Most won't. :/

Annoying, but the whole thing behind the XS games is, so as long as I get to finish this damn thing I'll be happy.

Didn't realize the game was only $40 though. Might not hold off on it then.

why do you guys give such a damn that it's censored?

Same reason i watch an american movie with english dub over french, animes with jpn dub over american, and always widescreen as it was intended by the director over 4:3, blood in xenosaga ep3 was an artistic decision, its what it was intended to be by the director, and namco USA ****s it all up thinking they have more rights than the very creator of the game.

It's more like they **** it up trying to get a lower rating and sell more copies. Which won't happen anyway, but y'know. It's not like they're all "MWAHAHAHA HOW CAN WE **** WITH THE ARTIST'S INTENTIONS!!!"

Episode III wasn't rated R...it was PG-13.

This sucks about XenoSaga. I might end up getting the JP version and playing through it with a guide or something.

Goddamn you, Namco. You are just stupid as hell.

How vital is it to play Xenosaga 2 before this?

Not at all vital. Read the text heavy background they give you and skip that lumbering monstrosity.
Honest injun.

As for the censorship, it's crap, but if it makes it feasible to get any reasonable number of sales in the US, great. Admittedly, I'm of the viewpoint that there's very bad things lurking around the corner for the gaming industry, politcally. I'd rather see self-editing-cum-censorship than a game kick spark a firestorm.
