Except it's not. Crysis is much, MUCH more than just pretty graphics. It's possibly the biggest step in terms of gameplay within the FPS genre since Half-Life 2. You wouldn't believe how incredibly dynamic and interactive the fights in this game can get.

Up to the point where you meet the next-gen Trigens which just like last gen ruins the game, IMO.

I agree that AC is a love it or hate it type of game, but a games reviewers job is to assess the game. Whether they love it or hate it should be irrelevant to their objective assessment of the game.

COD4, Half Life 2 and Virtua Fighter 4. None of them appeal to me, but if I was a reviewer, I would at least say that although the games weren't appealing to me they are of the highest quality and at the very least worth a look for fans of the genres.

A 4 for AC is complete and utter BS.

RE4 deserves the number 1. I didn't play through any other game 5 times last-gen and RE4 was PURE GAMING BRILLIANCE. Halo really shouldn't be on number 2 though... Oh, they counted DC games? Shenmue? I actually like their reviews but this AC one is bullshit.

I'm completely into the game, I love the story and its tied with Bioshock as my game of the year.

Note: I don't have a Wii and Mass Effect/Uncharted aren't released in Europe.

its better in many ways though...story for one, cutscenes and character personality...music for another, combat system is also much better...of course AC also has aspects which are better...the score is far too low for that game a 7 or a 7.5 is more fitting....or more likely a B or a B-

RE4 was good, but I must be one of the only people that wouldn't even put it in my top 10 for last gen... hell, it might not even make top 20.

I always beat my games in a weekend, or at least keep the game in the system until I beat it - however, for RE4, I beat half of it, stopped for about 3 months, and then finally came back to it because I had nothing else better to do... not exactly what I call top 10 material.

The Assassin's Creed review is actually very well written and justifies itself just fine. Personally, I'm in favour of review sources dropping scores altogether, forcing people to actually read and construct an opinion from the text. It would certainly benefit GamesTM and Edge.

Super Monkey Ball at number 9? Me and my friends had a blast with that thing, but #9 it is not. Overall the list seems very Gamecube skewed, and that's coming from someone who spent most of last gen as a Gamecube only owner.

I'd put Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 or Super Monkey Ball DX way above 9 actually.
Its one of the purest party game experiences ever made.

Atmosphere wise i liked GTA 3 more then both SA and VC. I just feel GTA SA offered so much more then any other game in the series.

VC did have the best soundtrack hands down.

I agree with AC being a 4/10 and Mass Effect 9/10, while COD4 is 8/10. I've played all three now that's how I kinda felt. Probably could throw AC a bone due to the great graphics, maybe a 5/10 or 6/10.

The repetitiveness and the dual-Altaiir bug near the end was pretty damn game breaking.
