GameStop and Redbox Trade-Ins

I'm trading in my ps4 for Switch credit, and since I'm done with Sony as a gaming ecosystem, I won't have any use for the few games I have. As of such, I was planning on trading them in as well. I just remembered that 2 of my games were purchased used from Redbox and, I believe, still have Redbox stickers around the eyelet of the disc. Does anyone know how GameStop treats these types of things? Do they refuse to buy them, or is it just like anything else?

Does it seem like the stickers are removable? I've never rented a game from Redbox. If so, you'll want to try and remove them yourself. They'll charge you a refurb fee otherwise.

If there are stickers on the disk, zippo fluid is amazing at removing them. Followed by GooGone. Then standard rubbing alcohol. Just apply to the sticker, let it soak in, then apply liberally as you slowly peel it off. Bingo bango

So you'll owe them money.

They'll deduct it from the trade in value. They hit me with it once which was crap considering the condition games and packaging have been over the years.

There's certainly no discount when they sell you a game with a missing case.

Edit: Getting hit with a refurb fee depends on the employee. The one who nailed me seemed like a real company guy. Most of the time the employees are ok.

Having worked at Gamestop last year for a bit, I'll say any time you want to trade something in that could be labeled as "defective" (scratched, dirty, slightly damaged, missing a component), 3rd party but looks 1st party, or stolen even, go to the least experienced person you can find working. Because 9 times outta 10 they take things they shouldn't and/or give people more money than they're supposed to.
