I assume you're referring to the plagiarism controversy? I haven't heard anything about the main theme returning. Which is bs imo. The similarities are there, but music can be so limited of course you're gonna have similar pieces given a long stretch of time. Konami didn't want to deal with it, though.

Thank you so much for letting me know I'm not alone here.

I can see why people like Rising - it's booming, exciting, and really gets you into the action while still being really recognizable. But fuck, despite trying hard to get into it, I just can't enjoy anything from that soundtrack apart from the stellar Stranger I Remain. Yes, that includes Rules of Nature. Really not my genre at all. Bums me out I can't get in on the fun. :/

The Best Is Yet To Come is the best IMO, by far. There's a lot of fantastic music in this series, but that track is on another level. The mood when that song is playing post-MGS1 after all that end-game craziness is off the charts. Its use in MGS4 only reaffirmed how great it is.

I'm confused, does this just entail lyrical performances, or the entirety of each game's soundtrack? Because the list seems to have a couple of main themes in addition to lyrical themes, and if you're going by that metric, I'd say that's pretty fucked up. The MGS3 main theme above the others?
