Gameznflix. WTF

I know lots of people use gameznflix here... and to be honest I really am impressed with the price and speed of delivery, but they have one problem:

New releases take weeks to show up.

Super Paper Mario was about two weeks late and Spiderman 3 for the 360 is still "on order"

Anyone know why this is or have contacted the company?

Edit: Everyone is misunderstanding the thread.

They dont have the new titles in stock, period. I mean no one can get them, they are "on order" meaning they have no copies of the game yet.

:lol

you get what you pay for....

im happy with it, but i am pissed C&C 360 isn't available yet. i did get gears of war a few days after it released though.

Switch to Gamefly. Just pay the extra. They now have a EC distro center too. they get new releases on the day they come out and their website is far superior.

I've already played (and sent back!) C&C3. well, cuz I hated it, but you know.

About cheapness, he mentioned that Super Paper Mario was like 2 weeks late. How much does a game drop in price after 2 weeks? :P

That makes no sense.

I think he ment that people had already rented the new games so they had no more copies to rent out.

:lol I did the same thing. Sent C&C3 back the day I got it.

Switch to Gamefly. I get new releases the day after release normally.

What I said a week ago still stands, I'm still waiting on the games...

fck Gameznflix. I've had Spiderman 3 360 & PS3 for over a week on my list and it's still not even on my queue. They are listed "On Order 5/4/07". I've also had Motorstorm on my list for a few days and it lists as... well nothing. Apparently they don't tell you the wait status of a game anymore just an obsure bar which may or may not be full I can't tell.

If you cannot send me recent games then you're useless.

I've noticed this too. Some new titles show up soon after release, while others tend to take a few weeks. I think it may be publisher dependant. Gameznflix is starting to piss me off because they are now skipping all of the games at the top of my list and sending me the movies at the very bottom. That said, i still don't want to switch the Gamefly, since it's more than twice the price, and doesn't have movies

Does anyone understand why GameFly and Netflix won't get together? They must have some form of relationship, since I see their commercials back to back regulalry, and the adds have a similar angle. Buying the services seperately makes little when Gameznflix combines them for no extra cost. I just wish GnF would let you reserve at least one slot particularly for games

how big of a commitment is this? how often must i watch? is it worth it?
Yeah, and how much money do you get off?

I've had a subscription with GnF for awhile and it's been nothing but problems. They were charging me $13 instead of $6 for months. When I "contacted" them (their customer service is weak) all I got was "we're looking into it." FOR MONTHS.

I contacted the BBB and it was dealt with. Finally. I hate GnF!

I had Paper Mario in my queue for forever. Never knew they didn't actually have it in stock. I thought it was just rented out.

Not much of a commitment at all, ads range from 30 secs to 1 min, watch the ad, answer a few questions get .50 here, .50 there, each month they send whatever $$ you've accrued over to your gamefly account and it shows up as a discount when you get billed by gamefly.

The ads are pretty much ads you'd see on TV.

I think the max you can get off a month is $10.

I stuck w/ gamefly. Renting a game and getting it the day it releases... Playing it to death and then keeping it for 50% off MSRP is a great thing.

8 bucks for 2 games out at once = win. They may be a bit slow with getting new releases in, but I can't argue with the price.

Ah you beat me.

OT: This will be my last month with GnF they are cheap but since there will be alot of good new games coming out in the next few months on the 360 I want to switch to Gamefly and atleast be confident that i will get them quickly.

Just to add to the hate I had to do some minor thread necromancy...

I've had nothing but Super Paper Mario in my queue for the past month, pretty much as long as it's been listed in their database. The 'availability' bar has not moved, and there are no reviews for the game(as I understand it, you can only review a game on the site after you've rented it). The delivery times are great, and it's probably an outstanding service you want to rent a bunch of random back catalogue titles, but I'm generally only interested in one or two specific, new games in any given month. I don't really care about waiting a week or even two to get a new game, but this is unacceptable for a popular title

Time to give Gamefly a shot. Since I'm actually in Pittsburgh their heavily hyped new distro center should help

I'm with you. Here's my queue:

MotorStorm (PS3)
X-Men: The Last Stand (Blu-ray)
Open Season (Blu-ray)
God of War (PS2)
Nine Inch Nails (Blu-ray) (On Order - Availability 2/27/2007)

It's been this way for a few weeks now. None of these titles are even remotely new. This is really insulting as a service and I'm amazed that people are actually getting good results with them. The painful thing is how cheap and fast the service is. When a game or movie actually does come out I get it in a day or two. But that's not worth it if I have to sit on titles for weeks with nothing to show for it.

that place sucks gameznflix.com

once I had like 6 things or more in my que and returned two games and the availability on all of the games were high to medium and they didn't ship anything for like 2 weeks. I questioned them and wanted my money back and they refused so I canceled my account. This place SUCKS!

I never rely on getting rentals of just released games, there either out of stock or don't have them, thankfully theres a lot of games over the year I missed out on so it makes it worthwhile.

Yeah, Gameznflix is the pits. The customer service sucks massive ass and that's only if you can talk to someone. I switched from Gamefly (before they had an east coast ditribution center) and I regret it. I actually went with GNZ because of the blu ray movies, but the service was so poor I simply got a netflix account and downgraded my GNZ plan to 1 so I can rent a game every now and then. I may go back to gamefly now that they got the EC distro.

Thing is you can get rentals of newly released games from Gamefly... so you pay more, but you're definitely getting better service.

I tell ya if they ever merge with Netflix....

In terms of online rentals, I've went from GF, than switched to GNF, and finally back with GF again. I intially became a member of GameFly back when the Dreamcast was released as a "Next-Gen" platform, and Blockbuster totally ignored it even existed. Even during that period, GF seemed to always have a reliable service, with new and older games regularly available. Although because of their somewhat pricey monthly fees, and lengthy turnarounds I became a bit more curious about their competition. Soon I was introduced to GameznFlix, which seemed to offer a pretty solid deal (affordable cost + quick shipments). Although after navigating their shitty site, I should of known my relationship with them wouldn't last long. Just like many others here, I had to deal with games in my queue that seemed to never ship out, some titles being sent broken (probably because the shitty packaging used), and just recently the cancellation of all PSP rentals (I guess you get what you pay for).

So now I'm back with the slightly more expensive GameFly, and it seems better than ever. The selection of games is still top notch (even if titles are in low availability), the GF-Store offers some incredible deals, and with the expanded Pittsburgh center, I receive games much faster than before (games are usually in my mailbox within 2-3 days of shipment, at least here in Michigan). So in regarding online game rentals, GameFly is your best your bet.

I kinda like gamesnflix, there are alot of older games I haven't played, and I don't mind waiting for newer ones. I also like that you can get DVD's also. shipping is superfast too.

I've had GnF for a while, wasn't too bad, but they definitely have a problem with game availability.

I just signed up for Gamefly as I just learned they have now an east coast center... but man quite a price difference.

I was getting 3 games for 12.99 with GnF, GF is $21.99 for 2 games... GF's service is helluva lot better though, I['m sure, and their added perks are pretty damn cool.

Whoaa.. what a difference in price that is. I was contemplating this kind of thing, but 10 USD is much more in the range I'd like to pay over 20 USD... Not sure what to do really. Brand new releases aren't that important to me, but actually getting the games is..

They're not bad if you aren't picky. Only problem I see is well... I have had Metroid Prime for like 2-3 months now... shit maybe even 4 - I could have bought that game for cheaper than I have rented it for :P Granted I have had a bunch of other games too.

If you can throw 10 games in a queue and not mind which you get, they are pretty damn good.

I wanted to try a bunch of new Wii & 360 games and even PSP games without buying them, so figured I would give GF a shot.

About Brightspot, anybody else have a problem with getting new commercials to watch? I watched about $17 worth in the first month or so I was signed up with them, but haven't really seemed to get any more since. I've tried putting different things in the "what would you like to watch?" popup you get with an empty queue, but no luck. Neither are there any questions for me in the BrightMatch section.

They did put $10 towards my Gamefly subscription, though, so no complaints in that respect.

Yeah same, I just put Any as my description of what commercials. I really don't expect the service to last.
