GDC: Unity3D Special Event/Livestream, promising 'game-changing technologies'

Not bad, the personal unity version has now finally all Engine Features, though you are still stuck with the splash Screen.
 
It looks like they're getting rid of the extra charges for extra platforms, with the notable exception of iOS and Android which will be extra for anyone who manages to earn or get funded more than $100k. It's still $75/month for the Pro version, though.

I'm glad they are doing this. The really needed to get rid of extra charges for the programming features.
 
What happened?

Mike Capps showed up at the Unity event. He was the president of Epic Games until he retired 2 years ago I think..

Edit: Nice Wii U support for Unity 5. I wonder if Nintendo's deal extends to Unity 5 with giving those with dev kits free access.
 
The new compiler and script runtime has nearly five times better performance in 32bit, and more than that in 64bit. That's pretty incredible, IMO.

Though Wii U export apparently isn't ready yet for Unity 5, boo. Hopefully it'll be ready when I can actually test on that.
 
Got it to run, ran an existing project. Some Editor errors for an old asset store lib I used, but the game ran without problems, and the difference in lightning is pretty clear. I'll probably use it for my current postgrad project.

Now to play a bit with it.
 
So guys, for the first time I'm going to be in charge of multiple Unity licenses for an organization, and will probably end up buying Asset Store stuff to boot.

If I want to buy editor plugins / assets / etc. for the organization, is the reasonable way of doing it to establish one account for the organization, buy everything from there, and distribute the assets to individual devs as files? (I'm aware the editor plugins are bought per seat, but the FAQ says one account can buy multiples, so as long as I buy enough this should be legit.) The hassle of establishing individual accounts per seat seems too much.

And if I see the Level 11 section of the store has a plugin for free, like they now have Playmaker through March, does this mean I'll get a seat of Playmaker for each of my Unity licenses?
 
Just got done playing with the 5 BETA today, lol the difference is lighting is pretty big, now feels like VRAY, (which we used for offline rendering in 3d STUDIO max) Totally awesome. Gonna check out 5 tomorrow.

And actually, Unity partially signalled that. They DID release support for PS Mobile, but it turned out to be exactly the same as the Vita Unity runtime - our first hint that PS Mobile software would from then on target Vita only.

I know. But PS Mobile is/was? a separate module from PS Vita and Sony said they weren't going to update for 4.6 and would jump straight to 5.

I don't see the logo on the Unity website so that's why I'm asking.

Unity is with Unity5 switching to a module System where everything like WiiU, PSM, SamsungTV and more "just work". So don't worry, PSM will come ASAP regardless of not being mentioned.
