Well we only know two out of the four packs that come with season passes, so I guess its a bit premature to say this. But the silver lining is that the Season Pass will always be available should you change your mind, and the option to buy individual packs is always there if you're so inclined.

You know a lot of people were pissed knowing that there were maps on the disc. I think it's a positive thing that Epic is releasing them for free. I bought the season pass knowing that I would want at least the versus maps and had the points (especially after that points exploit). I'm not even mad. If anything this along with the alpha playlist will keep the game relevant to more of the hardcore. BF3 right now is nowhere near as fun or as smooth as Gears online so I'll take what I can get.

Where did you read that it was? The season pass is for paid DLC content. The horde component is out. The next one is campaign component(RAAM's shadow). I figure the next two are the versus component and the beast mode component.

The Versus Booster Pack is NOT a season pass DLC, it is free DLC that is somehow being spun as a negative. It doesn't change or retract content for those that bought a Season Pass, it also doesn't reduce the value of the Season Pass. It expands the map playlist for online versus modes, AGAIN it is a good thing and has really no bearing on the Season Pass which gives four different content packs, one of which will probably be a versus mode Map Pack.

So far with the Season Pass you will get a Horde Mode DLC, and a Campaign DLC and if you decide you want these at a later date the option will remain. The 'I'm so glad I didn't buy the season pass' talk is strange because 1) you don't know what the remaining two packs include (likely both Versus with new maps) and 2) the season pass is a discounted price for four DLC packs

Nope. If you buy the stock game you in essentially have the maps on the disc, but are denied access to it. The DLC gives access to it in private, horde and beast mode. The free booster map pack is only meant for public matchmaking. So even if you do have the map pack you don't have access to it in private and horde.

As far I remember, the map packs for Gears 2 were usable on both versus and horde mode.

That is the official description given for the horde command pack, what is the first feature listed? that's right three new maps.

By listing those maps as a feature of the pack, in fact they are listed first implying they are the most important feature, and by not declaring that they would be made free at a later date they implied that buying the pack was the only way to obtain these maps.

What is the most cost effective way to obtain the pack? a 33% discount through the season pass.

So we have every right to feel cheated, personally I would not have purchased the season pass if it was conceivable that we would be getting the maps for use in versus for free.

Even though it is called the horde command pack the horde features are listed last as an aside, reflecting their insignificance.

It is a bitter pill to swallow especially with the knowledge that the content is all on disc to begin with.

But by all means because you get something for free, fight the good fight and name your first born in their honour.

I guess if epic saved me my monthly wage i'd be willing to defend this shit too.
