It'd be amazing if they subverted the trope and killed off J.D. instead.

They probably have long-term plans for him, though...

I've been reading and watching everything about Gears 4, and I still can't believe that I love how everything has been handled. Even the Gear Packs are handled better than any of the other existing options in games now, and that's usually when people start to complain once those are revealed.

Major props to The Coalition, I don't think I've ever seen a torch pass on to a new team so well. A major part of that is because of the team still having a couple guys from Epic, plus having other members of the team that helped to create Unreal Engine 4, and finally, hiring actual Gears of War tournament players from all the way back in the Gears 1 days like Fallout that know what players like myself want and enjoy from Gears 1 and throughout the series.

Bravo guys, the trailer was amazing, and the one return I was really hoping for is back - Cole Train! Can't wait to enjoy this.

It's too bad that I missed out on the beta rewards since I'm getting a Gears 4 XB1 S only just now, but it is what it is.

The splitscreen inclusion needs a big round of applause.

I'm sure I'll enjoy playing it, but I feel that the setting and gameplay is starting to feel a bit stale isn't it?

Agreed. Marcus lives. It does not make much sense to kill off an iconic character. Especially when after 3 they have lived through 25 years of peace.
 
I really want to get a xbox one s for this, but i know it's really dumb to get a new console for hdr when i have original xbox one.
 
Super hyped but deep down I wish I hadn't seen it. No spoilers really but it would have been cool to see Cole Train in game while playing it then in a trailer. That would have been a moment.

Stupid me for watching it.

He righted the ship for Bioshock Infinite as well, didn't he? Don't know the details of his involvement there but I do know they brought him in pretty late and it seemed to be in a role to help get the game out the door.

Gears gameplay will never feel stale to me. In my opinion it's the premier 3rd person cover shooter. I wouldn't want any drastic changes. I don't envy the job. That's a very fine line to balance between differentiating yourself from the previous games while keeping the soul and gameplay intact. As far as the setting goes, it looks like most of it takes place in an isolated area opposed from the original trilogy going all over Sera. They said the story takes place over the course of one night.

Looks really nice. I'll wait to see how the PC version is (or if it eventually comes to Steam) but I love me some Gears so I'll definitely play it eventually. They nailed how an old Marcus should look.

I enjoyed the first three a lot (gears 3 my personal favourite) but yeah I am not feeling it either. I am not saying it's bad or anything, far from it, it looks great for those interested but like a lot of MS' AAA stuff, not doing much for me anymore.

I fucking love gears.

Its the only franchise which was worth owning a xbox for last gen.

Unfortunately i wont be able to play this as I wont be getting a xbox anytime soon, but boy does this look badass.

The Gamescom demo mission was boring as all hell, but this trailer seems to have enough set piece moment that may make this game worthy of a whirl after all.
 
Like most people I'm calling it:

Cole Train and Marcus sacrifice themselves to save the kiddos in the middle of Act III

Will still cry like a baby
