Gears of War Ultimate Edition PC Specs Leaked

Just release the damn game already. This was supposed to be out months ago. By the time this actually comes out the hype will be gone, if it's not gone already.

They have predicted the effect Brexit will have on the the £

We're fucked!!

It's alright at that price I'll buy us both a copy! My XO copy must have been a steal as I got it for £20 in Tesco, that or the PC version is supercharged by 3900%.

I always thought a 650 Ti was right about the range of the Xbox One/PS4. Could someone explain as to why the minimum specs listed are not close to what the consoles are running?

The 260x is a bit stronger than the Xbox One GPU. Fair to say you'll bet a very similar experience barring texture quality with the minimum specs.

The recommend ones seem to target 60fps with higher settings at 1080p.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
OS: 64 bit Windows 10 – version 1511
Processor: Intel Core i5 @ 2.7Ghz or AMD FX 6-core
Memory: 8 GB RAM (2 GB VRAM)
Graphics: Geforce GTX 650 Ti or Radeon R7 260x
Hard Drive: 60 GB available space
DirectX 12

That's basically an Xbox One. What are people up in arms about?

Edit* Ok, people are blind or don't expect the PC build to have any nice features or options beyond the X1 build. (palm to forehead)

Shhhhhh. Stop making sense.

Because if you can't run the game on max settings then it is unoptimized. It doesn't matter what those settings are.

I like you. :)

With those recommended specs, that supercharged PC architecture better pay off!

What's the betting that 8Gb runs just as good as 16Gb on the same system?

I appreciate they're having recommended specs for 4K now. Probably was the same for QB specs then?
I'm in! Just fucking wish I didn't have to play this from an app.

It was confirmed that the game supports 4K and unlocked frame rates.

We have put significant effort into making the Windows 10 version a showcase at 4K, geo and textures were re-authored with 4K in mind so the visual fidelity will really scale up on higher end hardware. We plan to uncap the frame-rate and will ship with a built-in benchmark mode. For anti-aliasing we’ll support MSAA and FXAA.

The only intriguing bit in those specs is the 16gb. Gears of War is not exactly massively complex. How could it possibly "need" 16gb for a premium experience.

I think 8gb of total installed RAM is going to be sufficient.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR 1920X1080P

OS: 64 bit Windows 10 - version 1511
Processor: Intel Core i5 @3.5GHz+ or AMD FX 8-core
Memory: 16 GB RAM (4 GB VRAM)
Graphics: GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 290X
Hard Drive: 60 GB available space
DirectX 12
What a fucking joke.

Not to rude but I find it crazy how people seem to be stuck on games having the same system requirements over the past several years essential and get shocked when the recommended specs start getting up there. I mean why wouldn't you put 16gb of ram in your build at this point if your trying to build a powerhouse pc.

Why? You don't know what the settings are.

Indeed, although the Minimum RAM of 8GB (+2GB VRAM) doesn't make much sense in my opinion, since I don't expect them to have a minimum quality better than the Xbox. Everything above is fair game for now since there is no info on what is in there.

The original Gears of War on PC was really well optimised, runs on my cheap £250 laptop from 2010 on low settings with no issues.

They don't want to support Win 7 with patches and such forever.

Well as long as the software I use and need continues to work I couldn't give a shit.

You don't have to upgrade to Windows 10 if you don't want to and don't see a reason to.

ooooo

they are giving recs for 4k now......pretty cool. Hoping everyone does this in the future. I like knowing what to possibly invest in, in the future.

Well as long as the software I use and need continues to work I couldn't give a shit.

Well.....that will probably change if you want to game on a PC in the future. Especially since the OS hasn't been updated in almost 2 years.

Sucks to be you bunch of losers, ive got my 780ti and xbone sli'ed for the ultimate graphical showcase.

Dont hate.

It's merely speculation but it is possible the recommended specs aim for 60fps with MSAA engaged. It's not difficult to make a game designed for the Xbox One taxing, if you add enough on that base.
I would not say Rise of the Tomb Raider is a unoptimized PC release, and it can really stress current PC hardware.

But whyyyyyyyyy
what does Microsoft have to gain from that?

They want to drive people to Windows 10, to drive them towards their store where they can start making money. They need to show that people will buy from that store and that they can retain customers, so developers / publishers have confidence to bring their content to that store > in turn that brings more people to the store etc etc.

The UE campaign had some areas that really took me by surprise with how nice they looked. PC version should be outstanding.

Why are games suddenly recommending 970's for console ports? That gpu is miles more powerful than either console.

Especially the Xbox One, how on earth does it need a 970 at 1080p when it runs at that on Xbox one.

It's a remaster of a 360 game that runs on XBOne and it's recommended to have a 970?
It's a REMAKE of a 360 game that actually looks damn good on the xb1. It's going to require higher specs than the original did, it's the best looking of the games until gears 4 comes out.

The specs are a bit high though, it should run on a 770 just fine really.
