General Flynn resigns from position

Russia using Trump as a puppet is far more beneficial to them then a potentially destabilized but still powerful US that rejects Russian collaboration through Trump's impeachment.
We're talking a scenario where the Russian leak everything as soon as Trump and his administration are going down/being impeached/resigning/overthrown because the Kompromat would be worthless afterwards but that way can still serve to escalate the situation and create more disarray in the US and destroy more trust in the political system.

But as others have said it is kinda unlikely because they would risk retaliation/even more sanctions/US pressure on the EU to keep sanctions up (the last thing is what Putin really wants to get rid off) by the new administration.

It is odd that they asked him to resign instead of firing him, which would've helped them look like less of Russia's lapdogs.
Bannon has his reasons for fanning flames instead of extinguishing them.

You resign instead of get fired in politics for the most part
Typically yes... although I think acts of treason merits not adhering to that protocol unless they've really set Flynn up with an amazing golden parachute winfall in exchange for his silence.
And yeah, this follows shortly after Yates - the American hero - was fired for "betraying the Department of Justice".

She looked terrible in that, and like a completely flaccid person. Like her dog died...

It would be draining as fuck to spin all that bullshit 24/7. She was probably up all night figuring out how to make this sound good. An impossible task, and she knows it. She also knows she's only three weeks into a 4 year stint, maybe 8.

Not that I feel sorry for her.

Except for that time that Trump fired the Attorney General.

Exactly. Right after they told you Flynn was compromised by his Russian ties who was later refused security clearance for intelligence, something vital to his postion. Trump wasn't going to do the right thing, so he lacks trustworthy judgement on national security issues. This administration and the Republican party enabling them needs to come tumbling down in a firery wreck.

If ever there was a gif that represented my reaction to this news vs the reaction of Trump loyalists then it would be this one:

qqTr4Rx.gif
Hahahaha where is this gif from??

EDIT: nvm, Survivor

It really should send chills down everyone's spine that the WH knew about this for 3 weeks and did nothing tell intelligence agencies went out to reporters to get it out.
It really should send chills down everyone's spine that the FBI knew about Steele's Russian dossier for months before the election and did nothing while also fanning the flames of Hillary's private Email server usage less than two weeks prior to November 8th.

Already been there done that.

I'll make the same argument as I have before: if you don't know how the other side is playing the game, you don't stand a chance at winning.

GAF, CNN, HufPo, Politico, etc are getting into the right details, but the ones who support this false narrative right now aren't listening to any of those sources.

It's up to everyone else outside the right's echo chamber
ok, fortress of solitude
to change their discussion points towards reality and move the conversation forward. Debate on a national level has shown little influence, it's time to use the ground game - and that requires intimate knowledge of their offense.
And this starts with one's inner circle. Family and friends that buy into the far rights hateful rethoric and iconography, even if just in a subconcious level, which one avoids confronting in one way or another is a moral cowardice I cannot condone.

Can't even pretend to care that he had a russian spy attending top secret security meetings.

Ever wonder why Russia was able to identify and "disappear" potential moles in their government?

Can't wait to see Trump get impeached and see his Trump business crumble. Get him on the stand, reveal his tax returns, dodgy deals etc. tear it all down.

The more he tweets, the more I realise it's a good thing.

Moar rope sirs, Moar!!!

He thinks the real story is that people leaked information, not that the National Security Adviser did something illegal and lied to the vice president about it?

Wut.

Or that the FBI was the only group that didn't want this information given to the administration.

I don't understand how Comey isn't in jail

Won't people just need to sit near his table this weekend when he's having yet another vacation to find out what he's doing with North Korea? No need for the media to leak that.
Just have to pony up your 200K membership fee and hold up your phone as a light source and you too can be privy to Donny's policy deliberations with foreign leaders and pose for a selfie with Rick the Football Carrier.

White House says 3 former military officers-Harward, Kellogg, Petraeus-on shortlist to replace Flynn. No civilians.

Gen. Petraeus, now reportedly on short list to replace Flynn, has about 2 months left on his probation for mishandling classified documents. https://t.co/Lm4pDptIr7

On June 30, 2011, Petraeus was unanimously confirmed as the Director of the CIA by the U.S. Senate 94–0.[17] Petraeus relinquished command of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan on July 18, 2011, and retired from the U.S. Army on August 31, 2011.[18] On November 9, 2012, General Petraeus resigned from his position as Director of the CIA, citing his extramarital affair, which was reportedly discovered in the course of an FBI investigation.[19] In January 2015, officials reported the FBI and Justice Department prosecutors had recommended bringing felony charges against Petraeus for allegedly providing classified information to his biographer, Paula Broadwell (with whom he was having an affair), while serving as Director of the CIA.[20] Eventually, Petraeus pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified information.[21]

I can't tell if McCain is just a little bitch (looking at the confirmation votes) or is just trying to be sneaky (he gave the dossier to Comey but went hands off afterward)
