Genres you almost never (or have never) play

RTS or any strategy game for that matter, most boring genre ever!
Eastern games unless they target western audiences like MGS, GT5, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis
Beat'em Ups

Sports.
Music games.
Dungeon crawlers.
Point and click adventure.
Most TPS, excluding something like Vanquish.

I never play Sports and Music games. I guess that's about it though, because I frequently play pretty much any other genre (except MMOs wich is still play every now and then, but still not very often).

Strategy games. I have a handful on STEAM and I just can't get into them no matter how hard I try. This includes turn based like Civ or pseudo real time like Total War. I'm fine with RTS's (even though I suck at MP) but can't ever really enjoy strategy games.

I haven't played an RTS in years. Also, I also used to love FPSs, but the recent glut of them has made my interest in the genre to wane very quickly.

MMORPG
completely and totally unfulfilling to me, the only one I tried and enjoyed was pre NGE+ Galaxies. You could just wander through town and chat, learn a trade, do fun stuff. These days they're just raiding... yawn

I haven't bought a Sports game since NFL 2k1

I don't play "realistic" Turn-Based Tactical Strategy games (like Silent Storm, Steel Panthers, etc) - on the same token though I love me those more "main-stream" turn-based strategy games like Civilization and Heroes of Might & Magic.

I don't play Flight Simulators anymore, last one I bought was Flight Simulator 2000. This also includes dog fighting games like Ace Combat and IL 2 Sturmovik. I love Warhawk though if that could somehow be construed to fit into this category.

I don't play JRPGs outside of Final Fantasy, at least, not since the 16-bit days.

I don't have a problem with them but I haven't played a new Adventure game in forever. Would actually like to but I'm pretty frugal with my game purchases these days.

Shmup's... I'm just not good enough and think the whole genre holds too high a difficulty level.

Fighting games. I'm terrible at them and it's just not fun to me. I can never remember the combinations for characters so I always end up doing the same 2 or 3 moves the entire time. Even on the lowest difficulty in Mortal combat I kept getting slaughtered during the story...

RTS: I've tried to get into them, but I just can't.

Isometric, point and click RPGs: Hate the camera view and I hate the controls.

Sports and RTS.

Former because if I was interested in sports at all, I'd play the real ones.

Latter strictly from a PVP standpoint, I'd rather pull out my toenails than get screamed at for 5 minutes by Justin Bieber until his left nut explodes and I see "xXxSephiroth21xXx has left the session."

From a single player standpoint, I enjoy most RTS campaign modes, but playing against the AI in an RTS seems sorta like you're missing the point.

Racing (Except for lighthearted ones, like Super Mario Kart)
Sports (Same reason)
RTS
Flight/Train/Bus/Whatever Simulators
MMORPGs

There's a bunch of 'em. Just find all of them really boring.

RTS - I really want to like RTS games, but i dont - so i never buy them
Sports - Find them boring (unless racing games count)
Fighting - They all seem the same to me

Being a console peasant, I don't play RTS' or MMO's. Well, long ago I used to play Runescape. My nick was Powerfly93. Cool name, huh.

JRPG's - I just don't give a damn , boo anime (though there was one I liked SMT: Nocturne sans the storyline)

RTS- I suck at them.

Horror- meh no

Simulation racing games: So boring. I prefer arcadey racers like Wipeout and Burnout because they don't put me to sleep. If it doesn't have violent crashes or sweet jumps, I don't want to play it.

Fighting games: I just can't grasp any advanced mechanics for some reason. Fighting games are my weak link as a gamer. Typically I'll lose interest as soon as I get bored of playing Arcade mode on normal.

MMO's: I like the idea of a huge game world populated with other players, but the ultra slow progression, the repetitive quests and the copy and paste environments make them a drag for me. It's quantity way over quality.

4x
I enjoy RTS and TBS games, but 4x games bore the shit out of me. I'm gonna give it another go with Civ V, but I'm thinking this is going to be the last chance.

Sports
I used to like them, but I would rather watch a game now.

MMO
I just don't have the time to be committed to one. I'm eyeing The Old Republic, but it will need to be damn good for me to bother with it.

I think just racing games. RTSs I only play ones that really interest me and I find a lot don't, especially when they involve way too much micromanagement and require blazing fast speeds of issuing actions.

MMOs - I have too much stuff to do in the real world to devote my time to these wastes of time

Racing - Played Split Second last year and it reminded me what was mechanically bad about racing games (rubberbanding AI), followed by BLUR, which reminded me what was presentationally bad about racing games (terrible characters, shoehorned-in story). I've never played one since and never plan to again.

Puzzle - Match colours. Great fun if you've got 10 minutes spare, but when I get to play, I usually have at least an hour.

RTS - Doesn't work well on consoles. Not a PC guy.

Sports - I don't like sports. Why would I want to play simulations of them.

Adventure - Most adventure games feel more like interactive movies to me, and I play video games to actually play them.

point and click, rogue likes (or whatever those ugly text only rpg's are called), sports manager games

JRPGs - I detest the usual "spiky haired kid with a big sword goes to save the world with his band of friends and learns about love, life and himself" approach. Persona 4 is probably the only one I've enjoyed simply because it doesn't follow the same stereotypes.

Shooters - Because the industry no longer seems to have any imagination. Everything has to be a gritty war shooter with a bald meathead as the main character, there is no room for unique shooters like TimeSplitters any more.

Sports - Can't stand any sport that doesn't feature cars.

Strategy - Never, ever cared about them.

Sports games. Was never into sports as a kid. It wasn't until I was an adult that I started to watch/follow some sports. Used to have a few soccer games growing up, though.

Racing games. Some of them are fun and I played Burnout Paradise quite a bit, but in general racings games have no hold for me.

MMO. Never understood the appeal.

FPS. Mirror's Edge and Prime 3 is the closest things I have to one this gen. That's saying something.

Sports. Trick based games like Jet Set Radio, SSX, and the old Tony Hawk games are exceptions.

Strategy. This word might as well be "Valkyria Chronicles" to me. Haven't been able to get into any others.

Traditional sports, racing sims and military shooters.

Basically games that try to get away from the whole "escapism" aspect of games.

MMO

Sports

Horror- I remember the dogs crashing through the window. and that Eel in Mario 64. I hate scary shit, but I dont mind looking at someone else play them.

RTS

Fighting Games - I only like Smash bros, if that's considered a fighter.

and Shovelware. I hate me some shovelware

MMO
Fighting Games - Smash Bros.
Racing Games (I haven't owned one since Wave Race: Blue Storm, and if you don't count that, Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit)

I've made it a point to avoid blowjob strategy games, and I've only dabbled in pickling sims.

In seriousness, an FPS has to really have something special to get so much as a second look from me. Not that I've never enjoyed an FPS, but i'm just sorta over them. I rarely find them worth the investment.

I only play about 1 FPS a year for about 20 hours. MGS4 was kinda my 6 year FPS, so I got enough out of that, irregardless of the story.

Whoever said Music games, that too. Fuck Rockband and Guitar Hero. If I wanted to play the guitar, I'd go out and play. God, I don't, I really, really, don't, see why it's so fun.

Racing games, are kind of hit and miss. I like Blur and Mario Kart, but do they really count? Things like Gran Tourismo make me nauseous, and I usually either wipe out, or get a personal vendetta on someone who hit me and wind up screwing with them the entire time.
