Geoff Keighley hands on with DualSense controller tomorrow!

ABORT MISSION

- No back buttons

💀😓
Yup, I said it just a few posts back.

Neither MS nor Sony who've both released "solutions" this gen are ignoring it AGAIN this upcoming gen. WTF, it's just so much better to not have to take your thumbs off of the sticks for basic game functions.

I'm not sure what I expected from this video, but what we get is Sony's 1st party effort to show probably the only time these silly gimmicks will be utilized all in one "product". By mid-gen nobody will even remember half of these gimmicks, 3rd party devs especially.

Oh FFS the shitty blowing from Nintendo DS that nobody liked now comes to PS5.

The controller looks much more comfortable than the DS4 but the gimmicky shit he just showed is garbage. It will be underutilized and no one wants it anyway.

No back buttons is the dumbest thing. Idk if I can go back after having them on my DS4.
Back buttons are awful IMO. Depending on how you grip a controller (pressure points), you either find them very handy, or a royal pain in the ass. I turn them off on my Windows gamepad. They get hit at all the wrong times, and just aren't good for me. I'd prefer they leave it off the stock pad, so that it doesn't become a feature devs implement in games. 8 main action buttons are plenty for any game.

Yup, blowing into your controller is back. Thanks, Nintendo.

This has also been done through the years on Playstation controllers so it never left. In heist you can blow on a cigar, in Astrobot demo ps4 u can blow at dandelions, etc. ..

Tht isn't innovative at this point.

I'm okay with having controller gimmicks (they can open up creative shit) but don't act as if they're something completely new no one has done before.

This live stream is a nice little bump for IGN, but fairly useless. I'd have preferred they just release a pre-recorded 4K video. I'm pretty sure this is all pre-recorded anyway.

Sony needs to make a Mario Party knockoff that takes advantage of the controller. Otherwise don't see blowing and motion being used in a useful way in games. Spraying painting or shaking my flashlight are lame gimmicky ways of using the weird inputs.

Thy have a game in its own right better or just as good. Astrobot for PSVR is a fucking sublime game tht uses alot of the VR and controller features.

Hopefully they fix the biggest design flaw that places pressure on the charging port when you LAY IT FLAT on any surface, because of the awful angle they chose with the DS4.

I wasn't paying attention, who is the guy Geoff is talking to?
Generic marketing guy.

Crap. Forgot. I think I missed everything. Just started watching last 2 minutes between Geoff and a guy talking.
You didn't miss much of anything. Astrobot suffered from poor quality stream, and isn't anything visually interesting anyway. The features he showcased aren't too surprising. You'll be able to tinker with the DS features if you buy the console, as the game come packed-in. Pretty boring live event.
