German Amazon - Videogame Bestseller Charts

I am baffled, to say the least.

I'm almost inclined to believe some people thought they were buying FIFA Horizon 3 and were disappointed to discover they got a much better non football related game.

LOL, that's a really funny chart. To be expected though, Germany is the second/third biggest country in football (soccer for Americans), just behind Spain and maybe England. Not really surprised it takes over big time in its release week (my brother, who doesn't play games at all, really, will even buy FIFA 17 for XBOX 360 in Germany).

Second/third based on?

I can confirm that it feels like EVERYBODY has fifa here, from kids to teens to adults.

Soccer is a cult sport here and the Fifa hype has been the same since I can remember.
If there is a console in the household there is like a 95% chance they have a Fifa game.7

That does not surprise me very much except for the still high PS3 sales. I wonder what that means in numbers. Are there still so many PS3s in use?

Well you get people like my brother where their games console is almost entirely a FIFA box, he hasn't had the need to upgrade from the 360 yet since he can still get his yearly FIFA.
I have to imagine there are a lot of people like that, hence last gen stuff still being prevalent .

So we know a few things about German gamers... they like Farming Simulator, causing chaos in Media Markt stores at console launches, PlayStation and lots of FIFA. Looking at my buddies I can confirm this and I still don't get it.

Germans have three hobbies:
1. Soccer
2. PlayStation
3. Playing soccer on their PlayStation

Everything was F-ed.

Media Markt had an extra checkout where the just sold Fifa 17 and there were tons of people. Then i went to Gamestop and before i could say a beep they asked me for which console i preordered Fifa 17. I've never seen such craziness for a game.
