I should have it next week. BTW, I've had lots of personal stuff going on keeping me from gaming (and intro skit making) these past few weeks but I hope to get some TF2 and OF games going with the Gaf steam group in the coming weeks. Not that it matters, but just saying...would be nice to play tf with a team rather than pure random peeps.

If you're in on that Orange Box pre-order beta, we've got TF2 get-togethers scheduled all next week. 8PM Central.

It sucks, my plans to get Orange Box went down the tubes so I will be TF2 deprived untill October. I wanted in on that beta so bad.

It's currently only for Founder's Club members, however word in the beta forums is that this is a very small internal beta that is being shared with a few people but a much larger beta will be ready "very soon" and will be available to fileplanet subscribers.

But multiplayer is very fun man, all the different combos you can do with the suit gives it a very Battlefield meets Team Fortress vibe.

That was definitely the spirit in which it was intended: Generic joke amongst friends. He gave me the required dirty look in person, which didn't translate well on radio--it just came across as awkward silence. :) However, in retrospect, it WAS a bit ill-timed and unnecessary at that very moment. I am in disgrace.

It took leveling up a bunch more to do it, but once I did and created a custom class, I started really appreciating it. So....I'm harder on the game in this podcast than I feel now. The brand noobie experience IS a bit underwhelming though (as tends to be the case in multiplayer shooters). Getting the XP and getting cooler weapons, kits--plus learning the maps--makes a world of difference.

My senior year of high school, at the height of X-Files Fever, I won a summer term scholarship to a well-known American university for fine art. At the end of a term there was a student show and a girl who I’d guess was around 5’ 5” and about 250 lbs did a ‘performance’ piece which amounted to her doing slow-motion gyrating motions synchronized to the X-Files theme.

I still have nightmares.

While the GFW guys probably don't want to do an "Off-Topic" podcast, I wish someone would go through all the old episodes and edit out all the "on topic" discussions, then create a feed of just that. Going through old episodes is fun, but you have to fast forward a lot seeing as how it's not that fun listening to discussions on stuff like Company of Heroes, Gothic 3, etc months and months after they've been released.

The discussion on integrity re exclusive reviews was great. I actually texted my non-podcast-listening brother to d/l it. Would love to hear more things like that relating to how publishers operate and some practices and specific examples we may know little about. As a consumer and someone who finds the industry kind of odd and entertaining, it was really fun to listen to.
