Ghost Recon hurt itself today - Crowbcat Video

I've never even played a Ghost Recon and now I'm sad.
Forget about all this popamole newshit for kiddies & casuals. The only Ghost Recon game you should care about is the original (developed by Red Storn, NOT UBI) and the excellent Heroes Unleashed mod (which was under development for like 15 years! ) everything since the original was decline and the same goes for any R6 game after Raven Shield.

They will patch the hell out of this game. Wildlands sucked at launch too and I loved it eventually, same with siege. Now I dont see them removing the micro transactions, I expect all the gameplay stuff will be addressed.

I want them to patch in the ability to earn the normal set of camos via in-game means. The vast majority of camo patterns, including those of the US armed forces, are paid only.

haha, look i played multiplayer GR OG on pc for 3 years straight every day pretty much (played with =S&D= and RAV, i remember Xcal and FAST, BSR,) and this series died when it moved to xbox and TPP with ghost recon 2. i bought an xbox to play it and followed for a few more iterations but this game is dead. PUBG fills the void now.

Just as Rainbow Six Siege killed the Rainbow Six franchise for me, this was the final nail in the coffin for Ghost Recon.

I am genuinely concerned for Splinter Cell.

For only 10 dollars you can buy a stealth saver and be instantly transported to the end of the stealth mission

Wildlands was hot garbage, this game is far surperior already, I have a feeling most people here haven't actually played the game.

It'll probably make Ubisoft a lot of money anyway.

The industry will keep doing this as long as gamers keep falling for it.

Only you can prevent forest dumpster fires.

Why anyone would play this shit is beyond me. A broken buggy boring micro transaction conveyor belt whose sole purpose is get you to pay to not play the game.

Currently ilevel 139 solo. I'm not even going to go into detail on the bugs (my favourite one for tonight was getting run over by a robot, and then clipping out of the level), but the gear leveling system is pointless busywork (level 200 tank? meet level nothing helicopter!), they removed most of the customisation options from Wildlands (or locked it behind a grind or paywall), they made the game online only (but store character data locally...Cheat Engine, anyone?), the UI is a cluttered mess (why the capital F is transmogging gear and clothing on two separate screens), the AI is stupider than a Fortnite player (Youtube is full of lovely examples) and whoever thought 4 item slots was enough never played the game (but luckily you can just bring up the menu during combat since it freezes time and equip whatever...much tactical so wow!).

If this was the first game in a series I'd be impressed, but it isn't. Wildlands exists. The Division (2) exists. AC:O (and O) exists. FC:ND (5) exists. There's no excuse.

I've put about 15 hours into this thing and I'm loving it. The flaws in this game (every game has them) are no worse than usual. Microtransactions are completely optional so you can either be outraged by their existence or, you know, just ignore them.

The OP video is ridiculous as is the 1/5 score from VG247. I'm not sure I get the culture of failure porn in gaming but it seems to me that some titles have their cards marked long before they're even released.

The MTX problems are mostly multiplayer focused. It has plenty of bugs but lots of games do at launch, including very popular ones. Broken is sort of unsubstantiated at this point?

True. I think eventually they'll just patch it to work offline as I don't see any reason to force that considering Wildlands didn't.

From streaming/youtube it would appear that enemy AI is definitely broken, or perhaps nonexistent in some cases. When they just stand there and let you shoot them one at a time right next to each other in a game that is supposed to be a struggle vs. a numerically superior force I'd say the experience is broken.

If he/she had said "broken AI" I wouldn't have even said anything, but they simply called the game broken. Broken to me means like the game has problems that literally break it... game breaking bugs = broken because the game is breaking, hah.

So the AI definitely has issues. It performs well when you're spotted (red) and you're near the enemy, but the second distance/concealment is involved you get some goofiness.

Oh, and the enemy soldiers can't climb ladders. Yup, you heard me.
