No... The system is not a commercial failure...
To me this game is goofy and funny looking, but I'm not going to buy it for that reason.
I'm going to buy it because its a light gun game and i think the Wii remote would be pretty awesome to play this game on with, rather than a regular controller. Another reason is that I can take this to a game party or another friends house and hook it up knowing I wont have any complaints about the game unless it's about the graphics..... Personally Graphics don't mean to much about the game except that it looks pretty.... but really I wouldn't want to "play" a Game for looks... I would rather "play" a game to "play" it and have a good time, rather than pop some popcorn and watch it.


Btw I'm not a Wii fan-boy I love Sony i Love Microsoft, i love Nintendo, and i love Sega....
 
I love how the longer these posts go, the Nintendo defenders (and the other consoles) come in and start to defend these crazy games.

What are you people even talking about in this thread? Geez. Japanese games are known to be crazy, this game doesn't make the Wii a commercial failure.

Actually, it probably wont. People say this about every crappy Wii game even though it's unrealistic. Or maybe people are just confusing "profitable" with "selling millions". The reason games like this are put on Wii is because it will probably sell well enough to make a profit, not break sales records. RE:UC has a better chance of selling well anyways.

Wow... just wow. You know not all games take themselves seriously right? I mean look at Metal Gear, bad ass game that doesn't take itself completely seriously. And you really lost me at "commercial failure"... I laughed at that part.

Its a sad day in GAf when people doesnt know that this is the "party" mode for this game. Instead of showing regualar pics, the op opted to post the rather obsucre ones. Anything to bash Nintendo/Sega eh?

The Wii is almost a worthless pile of a console, but it's hard for me to deny a Sega lightgun shooter. No joke. If it can control well, it's a nudge toward me buying the thing.
 
Played this game in the arcade..I actually think that this game will play better on the Wii with a cursor..

I hope this game gets some good reviews.
 
Played it at E for All. I played in Ninja mode where you're a ninja and have unlimited throwing stars with no need to reload. All the bad guys are ninja and kunoichi. Pretty cool. The game's not as good as umbrella chronicles though as I had more fun with the latter.

Congrats buddy, you have managed to get a number of replies, which I think is what you wanted. I wish I didn't have to be one of the people that replied, but here I am.

Anyways, this is a ridiculous comment. I have a Wii. I have 5 games for it, and they are all great games IMO. (Trauma Center, Zelda, Excite, Metroid, RE4, in case you were wondering and that doesn't count Wii Sports, which I still think is amazing) This is only after 9 months of owning the thing, and that's more games than I have time to play. So please don't generalize about people, it's an ugly habit.

And for the sake of perspective, iirc most consoles haven't been gushing with quality software in their first year.
 
Fuck Sega. Seriously, fuck them. They cant code a wii game to fucking dreamcast levels, they go bankrupt 6 ways to Sunday for all I care.

It's a port of a 3 year old arcade game. :lol I wouldn't expect them to re-code the thing.

For what I know Zack & Wiki will be €49, but that doesn't bug me as much as NOT buying this game (unless it unbelievably goes for €29 that is).
 
I'm really enjoying all of these new budget-priced games for Wii. I really don't mind it when this is $30, Mercury Meltdown Revolution is $20, and Zack and Wiki, Manhunt 2, and MLB Power Pros are $40.

Now unfortunately, you can get MLB Power Pros and Manhunt 2 on PS2 for $30, which means the Wii versions of these games could easily cost that much as well, but I'm not going to complain when I'm getting quality at this price compared to some of the other "next-gen" prices out there.

...which means its actually a port of a lindbergh game! and from all the screens, it looks like a perfect port!
 
Wow, I love it when devs go all silly like this.

Sure, it's a port of an old game in a nearly extinct genre, with lousy graphics to boot, but they know it - hence the low MSRP.

But hey, if it plays well, and has more amusing stuff, surely it's at least worth a rental? :P

I'd love for it to be 40 €, as of right now the rrp seems to be 60 €, which is ridiculous in it's own right and even more so when factoring in the price drop in the US (if it turns out to be true).

As for Z&W, I'd be more inclined to pay the normal price for this since it's apparently a well-thought out, unique title and I want to support Capcom and the dev team for making/publishing it. But a quick arcade port at almost the price of a 360 game? No thanks.

This could very well be the first on rail shooter on any console thats worth a dam becasue of its immense replayabililty. Umbrella chronicals better be fucking brilliant if it hopes to stand next to dolphins and bikini clad terrorists.
 
I dunno, will the weirdness keep me away from the game or shall I go for it at that cheap price point of only 30 smackaroos?

I dunno, the bear man in the weird outfit and the cowboy with tan-lines scare me.

Don't forget, this game apparently has a calibration mode to make it into an "actual" lightgun game (i.e. no cursor, you point at the screen and shoot - like Time Crisis 4), unlike RE:UC. That's gotten me interested, as does its new budget price.
 
I like how the bikini blondes don't actually have their left hands on the guns.

Edit: And their right hands aren't either :P
