Ghostlight becomes officially licensed 3DS publisher

No games announced yet, but YAY anyway.

Ghostlight Enters The 3rd Dimension!

Hi everyone. I’ve got some exciting news for you all: after recent discussions with Nintendo I can now tell you that we’re officially licensed Nintendo 3DS publishers . While at this point you can only speculate over what tasty Japanese gaming treats we’ve got lined up for you, I hope you’re as excited as we are about Ghostlight coming to the current generation of handhelds .

That’s not to say we’ve forgotten about the other consoles either and we’re still hard at work on Agarest: Generations of War 2, a new build of which showed up earlier this week. I know I’ve spoken briefly about this before, but I really am impressed with how big a step forward this Agarest game is. While it still retains the same sense of humour as its predecessors, the rest of the game has been given a rather radical overhaul most notably in the graphics department. The combat is far slicker too and faster than in the previous two games and many of the systems are more closely integrated into the main game this time around.

I’m also very impressed with the increased flexibility that Agarest 2 offers. Tying progress to commissions has opened the game up somewhat and it’s nice to have a world map you can wander . Agarest fans are definitely going to love this new version, and even if you’re new to the series, I’m sure you’re going to love it too .

And of course, Agarest 2 will be available as yet another classic Ghostlight Collector’s Edition and while the contents are still labelled as ‘top secret’ I expect to be announcing details shortly.

Also coming soon will be details of how to pre-order the much anticipated Collector’s Edition of the mighty Fate/EXTRA so that you can ensure you receive all your sweet exclusive goodies.

Finally, in a bit of a departure from Japanese gaming and to celebrate the upcoming Olympics, I can reveal that our hugely popular International Athletics game is soon to be re-launched as a free-to-play game on the iPhone with online leaderboards and a host of other improvements.

Yay EO4 PAL release incoming...right ?

PERFECT.
Between this and Theatrhythm, a very good day for European 3DS owners. :D

They must be doing well enough if they can continue to expand their portfolio, even in these difficult times. This is a really good sign for us UK gamers, who may now not have to resort to waiting for hackers to "jailbreak" the 3DS just to be able to play imports.

tl;dr - fuck you and your region locks, Nintendo, even if they were forced on you by pubs.

Awesome news, Ghostlight will be the true light for us. Atlus games are cool but what I really want now in my 3DS is Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

pleeeeeeeease

Forced by publishers ? Were did you get that from ? Especially with Vita being region-free i dont think thats a valid reason.

PAL publisher of niche titles like Persona or Trails in the Sky.

They publish games like Persona on PSP here in Europe

They are a UK-based publisher for niche Japanese games. They released games like Persona 2/3, TitS, Agarest and other stuff in Europe. Them becoming a 3DS publisher is a somewhat big deal since the 3DS is region-locked.

UK equivalent to Aksys and XSEED
I see.

Great news!!

Considering the forever damned region lock, this could very well increase the chances of seeing more games released in PAL regions!
I wonder if the millions I spent in the last months in Ghostlight products helped :)

This can only be great, great news. Looking forward to what they have in store!
Unless it's something I've already spent £50 on importing from Japan :p

Good People Die be welcome. And maybe Code of Princess and/ or Senran Kagura.

Feels like it's only a matter of time before Senran Kagura gets a Western release for some reason. If not Xseed, then could definitely see Ghostlight get it. Deserves it too, much better than most people would think.

Nice. Hoping for Devil Survivor: Overclocked to be one of the first titles they can bring over. It's still disappointing that we missed out on quite a few Atlus games on the original DS, but at least that system was region free.

Their DS/Wii "support" was pretty shit, so hopefully they shoot a bit higher with 3DS. I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of Atlus, Aksys and Xseed localizations ripe for the picking.
