Ghostlight revealing another PC JRPG Port today

Guys, stop. It's nothing Spike Chunsoft, XSeed, Marvelous. And certainly NOT Atlus.

As of right now, it's either a japanese publisher with no PC presence or one of their previous partner: Idea Factory, Compile Heart, Acquire, FuRyu.

Akiba's Beat? I don't think there's any Acquire title left. If it's Furyu, it's probably a 3DS game, since it's too soon to announce Caligula for other platforms. It could very well be Compile Heart and Idea Factory, at this point.

Nah, not Akiba's Beat. It's already handled by XSeed in West and if it was to come to Steam, it'd likely be by XSeed or Acquire directly.

Prepare yourselves for the masterpiece Mind Zero

Maybe it's Ray Gigant

Both are on Steam already.

Exist Archive is a good guess. Maybe Grand Kingdom?

I'd give more chances to NISA porting Demon Gaze if you ask me.

No way it's Exist Archive. Spike Chunsoft is really dedicated to self publish PC ports of their games in West, for obvious reasons.

it could be Exist Archive, Oreshika, Demon Gaze maybe? Not sure about Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, it probably can't be it.
And that's all I came up with. It's very likely I'm forgetting quite a few candidates.

Universal Entertainment Corporation, formerly Aruze corp, hold the right of the IP. Though they mostly deal on Pachinko stuff nowadays (there are Shadow Hearts pachinko machines, or at least there were at some point).
I wonder how much that would cost to license, and whether they even still have the source code and assets.

Oreshika is a Sony IP.

I'm starting to dream about this coming to Steam now. ;_;

Exist Archive would be Spike Chunsoft themselves.
Oreshika is a Sony IP, a first party game.
Digimon Story would be self published by Bamco, for obvious reasons.

Demon Gaze is a possible candidate but even then, I'd see it being a NISA thing or even self published by Experience INC.

Demon Gaze seems very plausible.

I hope not :/

Yeah, I had forgotten Spike Chunsoft was self-publishing on Steam.

Hmm, maybe Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God? It's a Vita title that was published by Compile Heart in Japan and was previously localized by Aksys. Not sure if Aksys would just handle it themselves, but Ghostlight has published Aksys-localized titles before.

How about The Dark Spire? That's a good dungeon crawler right?
Wouldn't really call it a JRPG though, unless Wizardry is a JRPG now.

Maybe they could just run it using a PS2 emulator wrapper :p
But yeah, seems unlikely, if they really wanted to re-publish it, the PS4 would likely be a much easier option.

I feel like if we were to combine our GAF powers we could buy this IP from them and do more. Make the dream-team and see Shadow Hearts make its way into the world again. I miss these games.

God I really hope its not a FP dungeon-crawler

I'd be surprised if it's any Idea Factory stuff from after IFI existed considering the dedication they've shown so far to reasonable quick PC release turn arounds after an English console release and since they seem to be selling them with full Japanese support and in the Japan region lately.

I can't see it being Atlus or likely any company with a directly affilliated English publisher since they'd probably be doing their own promotion for that kind of partnership even if they decided they couldn't handle it themselves.

Persona 3 and 4 would probably sell upwardd to 1M units on steam at 30~$, so that's never happening. They have to sell Sony consoles!

"Not on PS3" actually is a pretty huge hint. There can't be that much left if you use that + not on PC + not published by a company that would never let Ghostlight do a port.

Sadly, I can't think of anything left that I'd actually want :P

I do. Grand Kingdom. Before folks say Ghostlight had nothing to do with Grand Kingdom's release, well neither did Lost Dimensions and Ghostlight is prepping a PC release for that. I believe Grand Kingdom was very underwhelming for NISA to publish once more on PC so I hope it's that.

The game deserves to reach more folks.

Why would anyone suggest a Microsoft IP such as Infinite Undiscovery?

Might as well ask Ghostlight to port Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon too.

That's another game I didn't even recognize the name of, but this one actually looks interesting.

I don't give it high chances, but it doesn't seem impossible, and I'd buy it.

I doubt it can be Grand Kingdom, considering NISA and Spike Chunsoft published it on PS4. But it's not in the realm of impossible either, because we don't know much about those publishing deals.

This either could be huge, or disappointing.

So many jRPG's on PS2 I'd love to see in HD. I can't even begin to name them all.

Though I'd be pretty happy if it was Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Shadow Hearts, Wild Arms, .hack, Dark Cloud, Suikoden, etc.
