3 is a big number but it might make sense to just attack those price points from the start & gradually shift down to one or two bundles. If $599 includes a Camera, Game, larger HDD & trial to PS+ or any service they announce it wouldn't be a bad deal.

Anything lower than $499 would be big for Sony, so good news either way if this comes true

Why not just announce at the lowest price and then add "value packs" for the extra goodies (assuming the actual box is the same for all three, not that we seem to know this yet?) I'm still very skeptical of this.

If this is true, the big news is the 399 model.

100 dollars cheaper than the Xbox One, thats something parents and people on budgets will be looking at if these are on sale the same month.

I can't imagine them mentioning 599 on stage unless it comes with a Vita, that seems unlikely to me though, but I'm not sure what else they would add to hike the price that high.

Because it will be reported as being the highest price and it will have that perception. The PS3 had two price points at release and no one talks about anything but the higher price version.

All about perception, and the history with that particular price tag. No-one remembers you could buy a $499 PS3 at launch.

Besides which, I don't see the point of multiple SKUs anyway. Just stick with $399.00 and let people buy anything else they want, like a camera or Vita, separately.
