I would hope so. I read somewhere that the audio quality of both the speakers and the headphone output match that of the vita, which is quite solid.
Yup. RRP for those is £55 already in the UK.It'd be nice if the controller had a small headphone amp aswell so that at least a half decent set of headphones could be used. But that's probably asking a little too much and a little unrealistic.

So will this work:

I never used a gaming headset, I just want to know if this is the right kind of thing which outputs game audio and not just voice chat.
Not too worried about the quality of the sound right now as I'm sure it will be better than my TV speakers (hard to tell left from right on my TV...)
? Thanks!
Why wouldn't Bluetooth headsets work? That makes no sense unless PS4 doesn't have Bluetooth at all.
Yeah, that outputs game audio and voice chat.
IGN posted an update with reply from Turtle Beach
Update: Turtle Beach's Dave Lowey tells IGN, "The new Turtle Beach PX4 wireless surround sound headset is compatible with the PlayStation 4 console, at launch, right out of the box. The headset will be widely available in stores in time for the PlayStation 4 launch. The XP510 and PX51 wireless headsets that were introduced earlier this year will also be fully compatible in the same manner."
So still no official word from Sony? Really?
Wouldn't be the first time there's been something included in a PS patch that's not in the official patch notes. They are releasing a day 1 launch patch too. Why couldn't of this fix be included in that?![]()
Nope, we'll probably get something either this week or at the start of next week. They have a peripheral chat scheduled for the 6th on their retail training site so details will probably be out by then.So still no word?
If you can already get TV audio (remember the PS4 only has HDMI so you need something in between that will take the HDMI -> RCA like a TV or audio receiver) you just need to get a 2.5mm mic cable to 3.5mm. Like this one: http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/cables-parts/ps4-chat-cable/464Maybe the wrong thread, but I have this headset, the Turtle Beach x12s. I know I can use it for audio with the controller or my tv itself (I'll go with the tv since it needs USB power) but I'm wondering if there's an adapter of some kind or some way to use it as a mic as well? the 360 adapter that lets you use it for chat is too small, but if I can avoid it I'd like to not buy another set entirely. Anyone know if there's a method?
Thanks!

My Turtle Beach headset uses the same setup as the Astros so I'm hopeful I can use them.
If not then this is exactly why I bought a two year warranty on them.
Please don't fix the BT headsets. My ears, they bleed
It works by plugging it into the controller, but I don't think/know if you are getting the same audio you would get if it worked through the USB dongle thing. There's loads of PS4 headset threads now and wasn't sure which would be the best to ask in.
Has anybody got a Pulse Elite headset working on their PS4 yet? I really want to get a decent headset and this seems OK, I'd prefer to have full surround rather than virtual surround so I'm looking at a few but I need to make sure that I get one that is going to work on the PS4.
Also, if people are using other headsets on their PS4 I'm happy to listen to recommendations.
They're patching in full Pulse support in January. Thanks, that's a real shame. I wish Sony would just announce a fully functioning PS4 headset that works well. I'll leave it for a bit and see what happens with headsets.

Thanks, I'm tempted to order one now as I can use it on our PS3 anyway. Anybody know how well the virtual surround works? They're patching in full Pulse support in January.

They could of course be talking about current headsets but I'm tempted to wait a few months to see what happens. You are going to see some new technology coming in the not to distant future that's really going to make you excited to use PlayStation headsets...I'll leave it at that.
My guess is he's hinting at their rumored VR headset. He's way too giddy for it to be just another audio headset.I've decided to hold of ordering after watching that video as they said this...
