My mech lore background is mostly mechwarrior/battletech related, which has a very different take on things.

The explanation for why this thing

is so huge basically boils down to the pilot being a womanizing asshat who wanted his mech to be bigger than everyone else with more shit because he thinks he's awesome. A ton of mobile suit designs exist for weird political reasons. Politics plays a huge role in pretty much everything gundam.

Loving the videos so far, except for Alex's, I found that one annoying. It's hard to top the sitcoms like Collect-Shun.

There is never a bombcast on Day 2 of the GOTY stuff AFAIK. They still count it as not missing a week because it's content on the feed.

I know this is mostly about GotY stuff, but since the other thread is closed right now, can anyone help me remember something that Giant Bomb looked at on an Unprofessional Friday? It was some kind of weird console or personal computer that was supposed to be "the future of video games," but was a massive flop. They ended up watching a bunch of documentary videos about the console creator, and it all was really depressing considering how hopeful the developers all seemed.

If anyone remembers the name of that system, or just the video it was featured in, I'd really appreciate it.
