I first started listening to the Bombcast around this time back in 2011, and I damn near gave up on it. It had to have been at least two, if not three Bombcasts in a row that Brad was spent far too much time talking about Dead Space 2. Holy shit that was some boring conversation. I'm glad I stuck it out, but I pray for limited Dead Space 3 coverage, I think the series is wholly overrated and discussion of it bores me to death.
Its why he's leaving. Brad has been against the redesign right from the start

Yeah, they spend way too long on the crafting. To be fair, about 30 minutes in they start killing Necromorphs, but 30 minutes is too much to wade through in order to see the good stuff.

It's not that important, and first impressions usually matter to people in quick looks. I'm up to chapter 8 and I've crafted about 2 guns without pining for more. I don't think anyone looks at Dead Space as a whole and thinks about the parts that aren't strategic dismemberment.

It's a Brad lead QL. That means he's going to play the part he wants and if that happens to be a part thats interesting for the viewer, great. If not, too bad. Heck, I'm just happy he actually used the weapon he crafted. If Jeff didn't ask him to use it (twice) he would've crafted it and never used it.

The Nintendo Downloads stuff was my favorite segment of the podcast, and I'm still sad that it's gone. I mean, Jeff sang about Petz Dogz Family at one point. It doesn't get much better than that!

Reading Jeffs tumblr and he gave a valid reason for skylanders and no one going to that sony thing. (Skylanders event was in SF, Sony event was somewhere elsewhere so travelling. blah blah).
Still I like to think that it was a decision on Jeffs part and at some point during a planning meeting he just said "fuck those games. WE ARE COVERING THE NEW SKYLANDERS" and that was that.

I'll have to ease myself in. I'm sure the ultra hardcore sims are beyond me. Gran Tourismo is about my speed right now, if there is any PC sims targeting that level of player, I'd be all for it. Oh and I'm sure I'll pick up Euro Truck Simulator during a Steam sale.

Yup, I'll be checking it out at some point for sure. The Quick Look was hilarious but the game also looked surprisingly compelling. I'll be keeping an extra close eye on any racing game sales on Steam in the future. I already have a few in my library but they're more arcadey style.
If you want to try shift I would suggest to go with Shift 2 on PC and use some of the physics mods. They fix most of the physics issues (without making it a hardcore sim). The game is incredible. Just wait until you race at night with a car that has exhaust going through the hood right in front of the windshield and you see the big backfire everytime you downshit...fucking amazing.
Oh yeah and the game has the best track selection of any games available right now. Also one of the best sound effects in any racing games.
