Nope. Worked with him for almost two one years at Screened, and he's not that at all. I also don't think that's a fair characterization of Alex, but I suppose most people would disagree. I've been a long-time Alex fan anyway.

If I had a kid though, I would be a little concerned with having job security and making sure I could provide for them too...

I wouldn't be concerned, Dave was a partner with Shelby Bonnie to startup Whiskey and I'm pretty sure he has some serious cash built up from making sites and selling them off to other companies, plus his wife is pretty high up at GigaOM, so I'm sure she's making that Silicon Valley dough.

I always thought it seemed impossible that there wasn't somewhere that Rorie could fit into the GB lineup when he went jobless those couple times. Hopefully people recognize that Dave was leaving regardless and we should be excited he's getting replaced by Rorie.

Sucks that Dave will be leaving but if there is ever a decision I can respect it's taking time to spend with a kid.
