I was streaming the show on my phone, so I couldn't mention it when they were playing, but I think Jagged Alliance: BIA is better than people give it credit. Granted, this is coming from someone who did not play the originals (though I was a massive X-Com guy), I thoug BIA was a servicable and enjoyable game. Hell, I enjoyed it more than New XCOM.

"Alarm für Cobra 11" is the tv show that Crash Time is based on. Nobody asked, but I'm sure you want to know.

I'm in Australia and thus at work, did they say the stream would be archived on the site?

Also I never understand the complaints here about the lack of video content. I watch every few days and am always a week or 2 behind. Love it.

All the videos are automatically archived now so I wouldn't worry.

That's mostly from people that consume that shit like it's water. They really do put out hours of stuff on a quite frequent basis.

After that XCOM Declassified quicklook, I think I need to update my wardrobe. Loved the character design/setting.

Were they playing on PC or Xbox?

It's not "just punishing the fans". Whether PAX has grown bigger than the Penny Arcade guys is completely beside the point.

To say "They HAVE to do PAX because we want it and if they don't they're just trying to hurt us" is saying that you're worth more than any moral beliefs they may have and that is not your decision to make.

I have never once said that GiantBomb has to, or should boycott PAX so I don't know where you get that from.

The only thing I've done is counter to people saying that if they were to boycott it it is only hurting their fans, or that there is no real justification for boycotting.

The end result if they do boycott is that it does hurt the fans, even if they did not intend it to do so. I think that is not disputable.

Anyways this is a pointless argument based on a hypothetical situation because Giant Bomb is definitely coming to PAX Aus. I'm happy about that.

Yo GB folks, thought I'd let you guys know that a GAF squad is currently rolling through the Giantbomb hosted Dota2 tournament. We've been doing some unconventional strats to keep the matches interesting, right now we're waiting on our winners finals match to be scheduled. I was hoping to have that info for you guys when I posted this, but the team we have to play is taking forever to give us times to play. EDIT: SUNDAY 2PM EST match is scheduled.

When it is scheduled I'll make another post, the matches are streamed and casted by an amateur casting duo from GB, vods from our previous two matches are here:

http://www.twitch.tv/ajamafalousify/b/420374617
http://www.twitch.tv/ajamafalousify/b/423212308

Casters are a little new, but they do a decent job and it's funny if nothing else.

The main thread for the tournament is:

http://www.giantbomb.com/dota-2/3030-32887/forums/official-dota-2-giantbomb-tournament-1439177/#185

Which will hopefully be updated when the match is scheduled. The most interesting bit of news is that earlier in the week it was revealed that along with subscriptions to the site, the prize for winning the tournament will be playing a set against the Daily Dota crew live on their stream in a special episode. We'll do our best to get there and give everyone a good show.

I'm REALLY excited about the potential for another Drew/Alexis Extra Life run.

Their overnight stuff is always fun. Like the Dave playing Elder Scrolls run before Kasavin played Skyrim and the Xboxalypse.

The Micheal Jordan Bombastica is totally going to be a Patrick video.

Also Patrick said in today's chat that he's still going to do Quicklooks with people that are around his area. So yeah, he'll still be doing some regular video content.

Oh man, I'm not a big Dota person, just watch the Daily Dota videos and so far I watched the first link and that was so stupidly entertaining. I kept finding myself laughing at the tactics. I seriously hope you guys win in the end because I'd love to see what happens against the Daily Dota squad. Brad's flustered spluttering will be glorious.

Time to check the second link!

Good job representing GAF! :D

The Freedom stream was great. GB is usually at its best when they don't prepare a lot and just play some random games.

I wonder what their plans for the Big Live Live Show are this year, it always seems they like put a lot of effort in, but honestly the only things from last year that I remember are Drew shooting a bow and "Tango down in Section One Alpha".

Holy shit, I totally remember playing that Duke Nukum.
When I was in junior high I would sometimes like to go with my mom to garage sales, since they sometimes had electronics and games for cheap. Once there was a ziploc of floppies, so I asked the lady how much. She let me have them all, and said her son was part of the company that makes those games. It had Jill of the Jungle, tons of Apogee games and the Duke Nukem they played in the stream.

What a golden age of video games that was.

That first game is hilarious, the early rosh + trilane is so inventive.

Wow, I had no idea that Twitch was actually using Giantbomb's database for the game name stuff.

I suspect Gamespot will do something with it when they redesign too. CBS bought it, they might as well use it.

Twitch recently ended their advertising deal with CBS - so GB/CBS might actually be getting paid for using it. Would be nice.

wait until you see first series game 2 ;) (it's really short lol).

That one was funny too, but I preferred the first one because I'm a particular fan of level 1 Rosh strats. Are any of the teams in the tournament actually good enough to challenge you guys?

Patrick really does have the best opinions. He's absolutely right that Independence day is a legitimately great movie. I think it still holds up great

Does he like the bit where Jeff Goldblum uses an apple mac to interface with alien computers and upload a virus?

Yeah, a bit curious if you guys have been checking out your competition ahead of time or just go in knowing you're good enough to crush everyone. Do you guys work out your plans well ahead of time or is it mostly based off of the composition? I'm assuming these are strategies you folks have done together in matchmaking previously so you already have a good idea how to push hard and with unorthodox methods?

I actually really enjoyed the longer fourth match because A) We simply got to see more of the team performing, and B) It was ridiculous how quickly alchemist was attacking. And I'm assuming that was pretty much the main plan was to do everything to buff Alchemist up as much as possible?

Definitely remind us around the next match takes place (or link afterwards) because I'm completely interested in seeing what comes next.

I love XCOM, a real shame the ios version seems to be so fucked. On the iphone at least, they said ipad should be fine.
