Andy and Coonce?! Did they leave Tested??
BermanBraun? Yup.

Coonce was literally counting down the days on his twitter, pretty clear he was not enjoying it at all (and probably, like Dave, he just worked the contract dictated by the sale of WM). I don't think he was with Will & Norm though, probably working with other developers out of the BB HQ to launch the new sites on the Django framework they sold.

These guys have been in the industry for ages, so I imagine going back to corporate development after working in a start-up is not fun.

I very much doubt a contract engineer like Coonxe was on a one year deal. More likely he was waiting for Dave to setup his thing and then served his notice period.
It is all interpretation but I read his tweets more as excited to join his friends in something new rather than "can't wait to get out".

They were all working out of that Tested office AFAIK - BB HQ is in LA somewhere.

Content Management System. Generic term for the 'back end' that powers many content-heavy sites. Sometimes they're custom built, sometimes off-the-shelf opensource packages etc.

A company like BermanBraun wouldn't buy a framework without making sure they have the key architects on-board for a minimum period to train their dev team to work with it. Sure he was ecstatic to work on a mother & baby site...

I read that as Andy and Mike. Coonze seemed like a nice guy but python coders are ten a penny.

I needed a podcast for today so I picked a random old episode of the bombcast. It was 2009 E3 Day 2.

donnnn't...just...no...
one of the leigh alexander episodes. I DIDN'T KNOW/FORGOT

That was secretly one of the best bombcasts if you were watching it live. The multiple streams that were going on when people were walking out to go smoke and stuff were amazing.

Brad's stalwart insistence that the PS4 being more powerful than the One doesn't matter makes him seem like more of a fanboy than any of the people he's castigating.

Is the WiiU stream available anywhere? I know they split it for quicklooks afterward but I'd love to rewatch the actual stream with all the technical difficulties and everything.... It must be on twitch but I don't want to spend the night going through the history trying to find the right recording.

Edit: NVM got it!

Edit 2: Oh god, 7 hours lol

That stream really bummed me out. You could tell they were so excited to finally have a new console, then things kept getting worse and worse, culminating with the Mickey QL where the frame rate just goes into the single digits.

Definitely, Giant Bomb lunacy at its best. But it was actually hard work keeping up with all the streams. They kept popping up and dying so fast, you had to be quick off the mark.

Wait what.

If anything people have been castigating him for insisting that the specs between the PS4 and the xbone wouldn't make too much difference in games.

What's Coonce doing now adays? Dude was way too cool. Miss him.

Isn't he not buying anything at launch? Which is weird because isn't that his job..

It's really unfortunate we won't get the comedy gold that was the Wii U launch out of PS4/Xbone. God what a spectacular SNAFU that was. Watched a good deal of it live too.

He's right, the general public that will be buying the majority of both consoles throughout the next generation don't care about specs.

They don't care about specs, but when they ask their friends which console to buy or google which console to buy and if them/it comes back saying the PS4 versions of games look better, that matters.

They aren't going to do launch day streams?

And I don't think the launch day titles are the best example of what will come out of the power differences. Ryse(particularly the single player) looks amazing as does Killzone: Shadowfall. Honestly, if Ryse is a launch title I'm not too worried about what we will get out of the One in the coming years. Although it makes me very excited to see what Sony's studios will be able to do with the extra juice.

I think he means the mandatory update chaos that happened with the Wii U launch. Though, depending on how long it takes for the Xbox One's mandatory update to finish and a potential PS4 one, the same could happen.

Ah, that's right. Had put the 1GB madness at the back of my mind. Microsoft is considerably more online savvy than Nintendo so I'm not too worried.

Y'all ready for the team Brad (feat. Merlini the ti3 broadcaster and streamer) vs team gaf Dota grudge match happening today?!?

It's going to be a bloodbath.

The latest footage of Ryse looked pretty bad, I don't know what happened. Or was that multiplayer?

Did they do a QL for Kingdom Hearts HD?

And I must say I spend way to long the last day or two googling Hatsune Miku stuff to try and rap my head around it. I kind of want to download the vocaloid and make something dumb but $150? fuck that.
