I guess they are finally making a profit on the machines so they want to keep doing so for as long as they can get away with it. I no longer own a working PS3 and am eagerly awaiting that magic £100 (for the hdd version) price point. Creeping closer.

When Jeff said it was $299 I almost spit out my drink. That was the same price it has been for 3 years now - an 8 year old console is $100 less than a PS4.

No backwards compatability is a strange yet simple thing.

So is that breaking news true about the component cables on 360 E, personally I could give a toss but it seems strange I have not heard about it anywhere else.

There's no optical audio either. Component is pretty unnecessary in this day and age, I can't imagine many people missing it - while optical is still useful for headset systems.

No optical is just fucking mind boggling.

I expect this kind of nonsense from a Nintendo console but come on.

Thank you.

Patrick's E3 Diaries were really insightful. He really brought the listener in on how to be a journalist within the games industry. Also, he's pretty awesome at interviews and making them professionally laid back.

The Daily Dota this past Monday was I think the closest (Pascual? I don't have the voice/person association) wanted to rage at Brad. Delicious conflict.

Yep. Though to be honest I felt like Pascual didn't play that well either. Felt like he ditched Brad to deal with the Slark by himself and just sat back pulling the jungle creeps (often without stacking), even though they could have bullied the Slark out of lane if they just ganged up and harassed him.

Just the idea of that made me cringe.

I get why Jeff likes them (he likes that it adds a bit of chaos to otherwise very structured shows), but I've just never seen them done well, consistently, anywhere on the Internet.

The Megan's Law joke killed me though.

The HotSpot used to do them well. They were voice messages, so it wasn't quite the same thing, but still. It worked because they weren't really afraid to make fun of the callers a bit.
I wish I had a youtube clip of the guy calling in about Final Fantasy 7 HD because "he said they would do it in the magazine because and people want it so why wouldn't they make it because people want it and they'd buy it I mean I want it and I'd buy it"...".

I want Jeff Gerstmann and Mike Francesa to do a daily six hour video game and baseball radio talk show. It'd be better than Mike and the Mad Dog.

I need to stop planning going for a jog around new Bombcast episodes coming out, lol. (east coast)

Can we talk about this tweet from Alex for one goddamn second?

Legit question: If we were to do some kind of semi-regular premium wrestling podcast, would you listen to that and who would you want on it?

DO YES VERY WANT!

Jeff, Alex, and super-enthusiastic Twitch guy from the last All Stars TNT!

Wrestling / WWE podcasts would be so depressing. Weeks and weeks of complaining about horrible shows and crap storylines - and then then suddenly out of nowhere, one good podcast because RAW decided to be good (AKA this week)

Of course, if it is just retro wrestling talk, that would be fine, although I would still love to hear Jeff's in-depth analysis on Mark Henry swerving everyone in the world.

So it's worth checking out this week? Literally haven't watched since the Raw after Mania since I knew they'd somehow find some way to screw up the magic and momentum from that night.

I'd be down for a wrestling podcast featuring Jared and other guests pitching in. Though it would need to be infrequent as not all of the bombcrew and friends regularly watch anymore.

Henry was God-Tier this week. Great Raw all around.

Keeping non video game podcasts behind the subscription wall is a good idea. It's a nice roundabout way of monetizing that kind of content. Alex and Rorie's not Screened, but totally Screened podcast has been alright so far.

I don't watch or keep up with wrestling, though I'll listen to them ramble on about it if it's entertaining enough.

How would people download a subscriber only podcast through podcast catchers?

Yes, was a really good RAW this week. Tons of new storylines started. Lots of nice fun moments. WWE actually poking fun at itself (Triple H asking "Who comes up with this stuff£). Mark Henry is fucking fantastic. Even the Diva segment made me slightly interested in that division again - with AJ cutting a half decent promo

Still a few bad bits, and the commentary got annoying in a few places, but overall the show was great.

As someone who has had alot of friends and family move far away, whatever the final live show for Patrick is, is gonna be a real bummer.

I'm very late to this, but why's Patrick moving?

IIRC

They both have their families in Chicago
He wants to make his own family someday
Not only San Fran is far but apparently also expensive so that could hamper the above point a bit
He made a promise that he would return after his dad passed.

So pretty much family reasons

Yes I would love that. When they were thinking of making new Whiskey sites I thought it would have been cool for them to make a wrestling site since wrestling sites are all terrible.

I think he meant that he wanted to move back to be close to his family and said as much to his father but he passed before it happened but it was on the cards since before he joined GB.

Was watching the 360 unwrap. Am I the only one who thinks the new 360 is ugly as hell? Whats with the 3rd version of both consoles being ugly as fuck. PS3/360 slims are best.

It looks a lot like the Dell PCs my company threw away years ago because they were trash.

Cool...you think he gets to work from home, rather than there being an "office" to go to everyday? If so, that's a sweet setup.

I find it a bit amusing he says Chicago when he really means a suburb. But I guess that's easier than just saying the name of some town that no one knows (like Petaluma or wherever Jeff and Ryan live).

I say Birmingham when I live in Solihull. That is how it works around the world. Its easier to give people context and reference than being all high and mighty about particulars.

The third revision is the bargain basement Walmart crowd model. Not just a die shrink, but making it as cheap as possible.

Well, if you're talking to people who aren't familiar with the area saying that you're moving to Vernon Hills, Mt. Prospect, Naperville, etc doesn't mean anything to anyone. Say Chicago and everyone knows what you're talking about. I don't know where Petaluma is in relation to San Fran, wouldn't know if its north, south, east, or west of the city. Well, probably not west because it'd be awfully wet.
