where is my bitmap2material quick look
Oh man that's low. You cut off the image right where there are games that haven't been QL'd yet.
I'm sure Jeff is dying to QL Ravaged Zombie Apocalypse, but is held back because he has to do PR for his friends.
To be fair, there are stuff like Hate Plus, Space hulk and might and magic X where they haven't taken a look at yet.
Also, stuff that doesn't seem like stuff they'd usually look at.
There's also ALOT of early access stuff.
Don't think there's a good way to cover a story only game like Hate Plus. I doubt anyone but Patrick would be interested in playing that game anyway. They could cover the other two games for sure. Doubt they'd cover Space Hulk.
Jeff has said on his tumblr if the larger publishers wanted to come by the office more often and do fun things he'd be all for it, but they don't. Folks like John Drake and the doublefine guys know their PR time is better spent in front of an attentive audience.
CHANGING TOPICS SINCE IT IS NOW THE WEEKEND, AND YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS...
Whatever happened to Vinny learning Italian through Rosetta Stone?
Did he give up on that guitar game that teaches you to play guitar (I already know he can play already, but he was trying to improve through that one game).
Has there ever been an update on the Ryan shirt / EnemyNancer fund?

Great work! Makes me wish I had finished the one I started on. Really good stuff, Lacking Saint. : )
He already covered Unmanned in a previous worth reading.I read about this drone pilot game in a film magazine and sent it to Patrick, but either he never got it or he didn't think it was worth looking at. It's incredibly short, but when I played it, I thought it would be interesting for him to look at.
The big winner at IndieCade this year was Paolo Pedercinis Unmanned. You might remember Pedercini for his work on Phone Story, a commentary about the realities of manufacturing the worlds most popular smartphone that was quickly booted out of Apples App Store. Hes followed Phone Story up with an equally weighty piece, one that bears playing and considering, given its an election year. Unmanned follows the daily routine of our anonymous drone operators, men and women who are quickly becoming the front line of a newer, safer, ethically questionable form of warfare. As a companion piece, Id recommend reading a recent New York Times feature on drone operators.
Me thinks that "Full Motion Vinny" should spin off in to its own feature.
Ask Vinny over the Ham radio.
For me it went down a level after they all but ignored that awesome red sleepy dogs style podcast artwork in the voting. Madness.
i wonder if ryan ever had any success with his hummingbird feeder
anyway, was the proposed Patrick Amnesia 2 Endurance Run talked about yet? I gotta say that i'm not interested in an 8 hour game ER. That would be a huge bummer considering the frequency we get these things.
That article on transphobia Patrick linked to in Worth Reading comes across as remarkably condescending. Really doing a lot for your cause there, author!
I think this was my favorite out of all the arts, love the 2 different skylines in the background
The problem is internet and social media have made people vicious in their social-righteousness. They like to preach education and awareness, but the moment someone slips up and makes a stupid comment its like they're sharks and there's blood in the water. Forget education, its about shaming and reputation assassination. If anything they've made it harder to talk about because of the fear of sounding ignorant.
Well, I wouldn't mind the tone of the article if they hadn't opened with a declaration that the article was suitable for those who've never been accused of transphobia. Saying that, and then being all "YO YOU SHUT UP AND LISTEN", just made me roll my eyes and tab out pronto. Despite the points being fairly understandable and agreeable.
Ah, what do I care. I love everyone, unless they're assholes.
Great Madden Quick Look.
"What's goin on back here?"
"Party in the rear!"
"BUNS."
I don't think I've ever clicked on a Worth Reading since the first one went up 'cuz I kinda mistakenly assumed all the links would be about games and sometimes I worry I spend way too much time focusing on that one topic.
I happened to come across that article on my own through following the author on twitter. I hear the tone argument a lot when I follow these types of discussions online. I think it's a little unfair to ask her not to be upset even when she's aiming to educate an audience that's genuinely interested in learning how not to be a jerk to trans people. Same goes for any other issue. In this case where the article's been written for cis people who are generally a source of harassment and abuse for people who are trans, I feel especially shitty asking them to consider my feelings even when they talk about problems that exist because of people like me even though I personally may not feel that I've done anything wrong. Like with various other social justice causes, the movement is about them, the minority, the people who usually don't have a voice, not about making sure everyone else feels comfortable as they fight for their equality.
When they're too polite they get ignored or are told "it must not be so bad since you aren't upset." When they're pissed off some well meaning people can end up tuning them out. Ain't no winning here.
I'm glad Patrick is exposing this kind of stuff to the GB community since a lack of diversity (there and at most other video game forums) was part of the reason I gave up posting there.
