Gintama 203

LOL I burst out laughing when I saw that Sougo
(well, as a wart) turned into the Kaiser of the Shinsengumi. Holy Shinsengumi Empire, haha.
This whole ep was great.

Account finally approved. :)

Back to episode 202: Am I the only one who thought Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Sadaharu/Wartiharu?

A great way to bring GinTama back. They kept throwing all the randomness so fast at us that we never had a chance to think about what was actually going on.

Should have known it was the warts considering how Invasion of the Body Snatchers popped in to my head last week, lol. And, random Gin transformation!

I'm slowly catching up! I'm on episode 128! :D Sogood.gif

I'm done. I finished 202 episodes in I would say a week n half or 2 weeks. Love the immense DBZ references. Especially when Hijikta couldn't smoke..

Gintama - 197

hahaha poor Gintoki's balls. T_T This weather girl arc is soooo good.

Break dancing!

Sometimes you have to wonder how Sorachi comes up with these story ideas.

So, what's your guys favorite Openings and Endings?

Personally, I'd say my favorite opening is probably Opening #2: Toi Nioi, as I really like how it's not your usual J-Pop but instead resembles an older style folk-song which fits with the samurai theme of the series.

Runners up are probably Opening #6: Anata Magic, for the same reason, and Stairway Generation, because I love how it incorporates so many characters, both minor and major, into it, plus the song is catchy.

For endings, I love the school-scenes in Ending #4: Candy Line, but song-wise, Wo Ai Ni is really great.

haven't watched yet but Taiga dramas are yearly NHK TV series based on historical events in japan - with pretty high production values. (the Shinsengumi series is AWESOME!)

edit: watched now
last years taiga drama was "Ryouma-den" about Sakamoto Ryouma - hence the remark
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakamoto_Ryōma

Year long samurai dramas with high production values? Sounds awesome. I think I might check one of these out.

Kagura has always been the best character!

seriously check out NHKs Shinsengumi! - it's absolutely epic, funny, tragic - you will cry manly tears ;_;
(and you get to see all the Gintama Shinsengumi guys in non bizzarro roles :P)

Too much awesome in this episode, lol.

Tears up a new years card.
Flushes card down the toilet (without tripping the lever!).
Burns card.
Spits on card and throws it out the window.

Gintoki sure goes all out getting rid of them, lol.

BTW, was this filler or manga material?

I already watched the first two episodes and yeah it's pretty awesome. After watching it realized that it was the drama that Gintama was originally going to be based on (and is still kind of based on). It's weird seeing different versions of all the Gintama characters. It's even got a few Kenshin characters.

yeah, the first two eps are essentially the Kenshin OAV from the Shinsengumi perspective

Wasn't it mentioned either last week or in this one that it was a late story? Sounds like it was from the manga.

I liked how they finally used the Kaientai for a random humor scene, rather than just serious plots for once. They could have worked fairly well in the popularity contest arc...

Whoa.
Sometimes this show is hit and miss when it comes to serious moments, but I just watched Episode 188 and, wow, this little filler made me tear up.

I know you're not a Madao!

Yeah that episode was amazing. It's probably my favourite episode of the entire show.

Catched up to the latest episode. My god, this anime just gets better and better. MADAO filler was so awesome.
Same for the Yoshiwara Arc, as much as I know this isn't a battle manga, I want to see a Kamui vs Gin fight.

ALSO GODDAMN KAGURA in the wart arc. JESUS CHRIST! *BOING* Almost as bad as when they showed her during that number 1# hostess spinoff where Shinpachi had a chin that looked like a pair of asscheeks. Another arc I just remembered was the OTSU fan club arc where they fight each other for the the official club title. That was so hilarious, especially when Gin replaces Takachin with Taka tin and he manages to answer all the questions right only because he was really saying that he needed to take a dump.

He doesn't need to, he's THE MADAO BITCH!
If any one remembers, like Shinpachi, Hasegawa is 90% glasses. The glasses is what sees, the body is just a glasses holder.

What number was the toilet episode?
79

I remember it because that number is usually thrown around as the best episode, or among the best. I remember it alongside 25 and 153 (I think it's those).

that was pretty damn glorious how it develops into a full

spoof

Wrong toilet episode. They are talking about the toilet episode during the Kyuubei arc. It's pretty funny that "the toilet episode" isn't specific enough.

There are multiple toilet episodes? I'm talking about the one where Gintama and Hijikata had to share an Asian style toilet.

I don't remember that. Are there 3 toilet episodes? :lol

that's the one i was talking about, no?
where they hide in the toilet while Kondo is peeing into that drawn face hole urinal and his penis is stuck?

No wrong episodes. The one I'm talking about is the one where Hijikata and Gintama are handcuffed together and they both have diarhea so they have to share a toilet.

I SPARKING ANPAN AT VICE-CHIEF!!! God I love this anime so much. Gintama has been the only show to actually make me cry from laughing too hard.

Poor Kondo... I was cheering for him in the final scene, although I knew he'd have to mess up somehow because that's his role.

Yeah, I think Hasegawa might be one of my favorite characters...

Actually, it's probably Katsura in retrospect. Kondo and Sae are two other characters who I always enjoy seeing as well.

I'd have to say my least favorite character is Otae though...she comes across as a bit obnoxious most of the time. :/
