This has to be crossing the line, :lol. I think they've gotten away with more here than in any other episode.

Looks like a serious arc might be next based on that character in the OP being in the preview.

I don't think any groups have translated those manga chapters yet. I did a quick Google search on the Japanese title for the episode (chapter 354 in manga). From the little that I skimmed through, the basic premise is
Elizabeth being a spy for an Amanto race called Renhou, and they are plotting to take over the Earth!

I think he's just speculating based on the preview for 232. Probably doesn't know anymore than you do.

Shinpachi's facial expression is hilarious and poor guy,the only one with no suit,treated as a pimple and still doesn't exist without the glasses. I like the Renho suits of Gin,Zura and Sakamoto.
 
Amuro Ray's voice actor (Tohru Furuya) in the final scene. Just perfect. :lol

Edit: And I lost count on all the other references.

Couldn't believe it either when I heard his voice. Elizabeth is fucking Amuro Ray? This is why Gintama is awesome.
 
Char, I've been expecting you. And you did not disappoint.

The giant robot combination scene (with a necktie), Fumiko controlling the crotch,
and Shinpachi "controlling" the robot pimple hahaha.
 
Shounen Jump readers rated this arc very low in the manga though, so we'll probably never see something like it again...
 
Honestly, the worst problem with this Arc is Sakamoto.

He's not a good character. His intro episode sucked, the last episode he appeared in (way, way, way back!) sucked, apart from the gag at the end with the Justaway-Neo Armstrong Cannon mecha, and he just doesn't do anything for me in this arc either.

- The food dropping on ground and Hijikata risk his life for the mayo.

- Gintoki and Kagura faces when they enter the igloo.

- Sogo and Kagura backstab.

- Katsura's high pitch Umm! Leader! Umm! Shogun!

- All the shogun antics.

Hell yeah! I'm been waiting for this episode since I heard so much about this arc and it doesn't disappoint with the exception of very bad animation. Poor Hasegawa, and dere Tsukuyo HNNNGGGHHH!!
 
semi-bump

Just started watching the show from the very start - currently on episode 10. Being so LTTP means I have a lot to go through, but the show is very pleasant to watch; just good anime humor.

I'm in no rush to catch up, but I'm really looking forward to see what happens because I'm getting the sense that the show is just starting to warm up. There's this air of "we don't give a fuck" looming over this show. It's really self-aware and loves to goof around, audience expectation be damned.

Seeing the gifs on the last two pages, I'm thinking the writers will only get more carefree as the show goes on, which makes things more fun for me :)

They actually do, and I think they mention it's because the show, around, like, episode 50? gets moved into a less kid-friendly timeslot or something. The early episodes are pretty tame when you re-watch them.

I think episode 7 or 8 had a joke about that. One of the characters makes a joke about a guy's "schlong", and Gin basically says that at this rate they no longer have to worry about a time-slot change, they'll just get cancelled.

Guess they got what they wanted in the end :p

lol they finally added Hasegawa to the OP transition.
Poor Gintoki really did do Hasegawa. Luckily I expected the ending was a sham,always a heartwarming speech which leads to this.

But you know, what are the chances that dude actually shacks up with someone? I suppose in a Shounen Jump title, slim to none?
