Ben Savage must be mad all those kids are turning into giants. And just like the previous openings, it gets me really emotional. Youth flashbacks.
 
I like the new intro, but was a fan of both of the older ones so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The show really took a dropoff to me from the first season so I'll see if it bounces back after a weak second season in my eyes

Stopped watching during season one but Christ Farkle grew up! I was hoping that'd be the second opening thoigh. Loved that one with Corey running down the stairs to the car.
 
So I originally watched the pilot of the series and thought it was okay but decided to try it again as something to watch on netflix while I played my 3DS today...

So now I've almost finished the first season and I've absolutely loved it. It doesn't really have the deeper dramatical aspects the original show had but I do like how much more lighthearted this series is compared to BMW at least so far.

BMW first few seasons were the show really trying to find itself (much like Cory was) which is why the first few seasons all had some pretty drastic tone and character changes but once it got to the later high school and college years is really when it hit its stride (also when Eric goes completely insane which is just freaking hilarious all around).

With GMW however it feels like the show already knows its identity it really does feel like its a true continuation of the original series and I absolutely love how they brought back so many characters from the original series not even main ones too I did a double take when freaking Harley Kiner showed up and the two episodes they did with him where freaking great and I really liked how it really finished that story between Cory and him and how they basically became friends and how him picking on Cory gave Riley and her friends a different perspective, it wasn't the deepest thing in the world or anything but its just those little touches that are just grabbing me every episode.

Also Farkle in general is just god damn amazing, easily the MVP of this first season for me. I love that hes Mincus' son (who also shows up in one of the episodes and when Farkle meets Shawn I almost lost it I had to pause the episode it was so funny), I love that hes a much more fleshed out character then Mincus ever was (almost feels like the character Mincus may have grown into if he stayed around past the first season as a regular), I love the costumes they give him such as the dictator and king outfits they were just spot on and I love the dynamic that hes got going on between the two girls and how they are all weird in different ways but thats why they all get along so well.

It's just a fun show with some great characters and so many great callbacks to the original series for both major and minor characters.
 
Put me in the boat of liking the old intro. That song is mellow as hell.

I've been waiting for S3 for 2 months. I thought it was starting in April.

My beef with S2 is how the hell is a bunch of parents signing a petition good enough to force Corey to get a new job without his permission.

I can stretch believable story arcs but that is stupid.

Which brings up the question of whether Riley will end up with him instead of Lucas in the long run. It seems plausible, since he's been following Topanga's trajectory and getting progressively less eccentric.

Well, Corey is pretty much the only faculty at that school, so...
 
Only recently found the first two seasons of this are on Netflix, so I've finally been going through it.

... it's weird that Riley leaves for school before Corey does, right?

reminded me that i missed the last 6 episodes.

and man does time pass. season 3?

going by netflix order and Girl meets New Year really doesn't belong where it is. at this point i might skip ahead to the finale
 
Cable cutter here, so I will probably be waiting until this comes up on Netflix. But man, did Blanchard grow up a lot since the first season based on that photo alone.

Carpenter not so much, but Carpenter was a lot older in the first place.
 
Just saw part 1...surprisingly sad! Ava was the opposite of annoying once.

Digging the highschool life already. Hope they continue to build on the more serious tone while still being funny.

edit: any time I hear "do good" I get goosebumps :(

Look at the episode numbers. There are two episodes after new year.

Good two part start to the season. I felt bad for Ava :(

I wonder if the seniors will be recurring for at least this season? Also Marjory will be a recurring character in the classroom I'm guessing.

Also while Smackle and Zay don't seem to be considered main characters yet, I hope they appear a lot in eps. It's a nice Balance of Boys and Girls then in the main group.

I am also wondering which ep will we see Shawn again and what other old characters we may see during this season.

Also I loved the scene between Riley and Farkle in the first ep. Very intense.

Looking forward to seeing where they will take this season though.

I'm assuming one of them ends up with Farkle. Sorry, Smackle.

Also, I hope Marly or whatever is not a regular; she is super annoying. I wouldn't mind the seniors sticking around, but that could lead to a lot of character bloat, and they would also kind of usurp the old BMW characters' experienced mentor roles.

I wonder if that teacher they introduced last season will show up again. Seems like they went through a lot of trouble to establish her as a one (two) and done.

I think they should end the season with Riley kissing farkle, after he breaks up with smackle amicably midway in the season. They can pair her with zayne.
 
So I totally dig the premier. And I got the feeling that Auggie and Ava = Cory and Topanga in many ways.

I also think those seniors are going to be re-occurring characters throughout this season.
