Oddly enough, my wife was also saying that Auggie and Ava are the new Cory and Topanga. Her reasoning is that there was no triangle for those two, and they were always meant for each other.

Pretty sure they are. She loves Auggie the same way Topanga did with Cory, she just clung on to him and never let go. Also, Topangas's parents got divorced later in the series, as did Ava's just now.

Damn felt like they turned it up a few notches for S3. Enjoyed the premier way more than I was expecting.
Well, there was Shawn.

This episode was the first where I really got the feeling the show has found its comfort zone in terms of 'filler' episodes and the type of comedy it was. Good jokes, good pace, etc...maybe it's just me but it didn't lean too heavily on the cheese.

That is a mean thing to do after this episode. It was a crazy good episode. It was nice to see that Sabrina and Rowan also switched a bit in acting style when Maya and Riley took the 'opposite' role in this episode. Guessing he'll pick Riley bu they just don't work out together and Riley finally realizes what the 'brother-sister' thing meant.

Looks like upstate + true maya will be the end of this maya identity arc but then obviously some shit will happen in the ski lodge episodes. It's tradition! I wouldn't mind if Lucas chose Riley but then at the ski lodge cozies up to maya. Drama!

yup..a bunch of times. He's in next weeks episode too. Or whenever the next episode is. Most characters from the original have shown up by now.

It is strange that we didn't see Morgan yet, as there were rumors that she would be in the second season finale. Maitland Ward (Rachel) has been on set already but strange that they haven't used her in the show yet but she might not be appropriate to cast on Disney nowadays.Main ones we're waiting on now is Morgan and Rachel I think.
I also want to see Eric again soon now

No, I feel the same way.
It was a mistake to drop the older brother for him, an older brother could have filled the Eric role and added a bit of comic relief, the main characters take everything SO SERIOUS, it would be nice to get a break from that. They could also address slightly more mature themes with an older teen. And not having a small child to take care of would allow Topanga to do other things, the show primarily uses her as "Auggies mom" and not much more.

Yeah, it's weird, since Boy Meets World cut Morgan because (I'm assuming) she didn't really offer anything substantive compared to Eric. And now they want to repeat that useless character. Maybe they think it'll work this time because there's no older sibling.
I can't really stand the Auggie parts either.

he has definitely gotten less annoying to me but his whole shtick is kind of dry.
they should do a story where auggie picks up smoking this season.
