Child porn? Right, this prank video is showing explicit sexual matter by displaying genitalia of any sort. I guess that video of the naked little girl playing with a dead squirrel was child porn too.

She was sans shirt, not sans underwear. Are you serious.

I'm just saying that the definition for pornography isn't just a picture or video of naked people(how disturbing that may sound)
the entire reason why child pronography is illegal is because of:
1. The lack of consent typically involved
2. The harm of the child involved

If this isn't child pornography, then I don't know what is.

Did the dead squirrel forcefully remove her pants?

If 13-15 year old boys ganged up and stripped an 11 year old girl and posted it up on Youtube, they'd be charged with sexual assault and distribution of child pornography regardless of what the girl's mother thought.

Edit: Why the hell is the news media airing the video? I guess because it's a boy, it's okay. Can you imagine any modern news outlet showing video of an 11 year old girl having her bra and panties being torn off by a group of boys?

You realize that the "prank" involved stripping a child against his will, right? You don't see how that's different than the squirrel video?

Usually I try not to judge people for their avatars or junior status or whatever, but when you horse-cartoon-watching adults (I assume) make comments this fucking idiotic it's damn hard.

ugh, touchy subject I see. Whatever, I just wanted more info, since there is no notification that it was sexually motivated, but I see I should've just joined in with a standard post of disgust. I honestly don't care anymore.

No offensive, but do you really think leaving it up to the parents is a good idea? I'm taking a bet each one of those parents either doesn't give a damn about their kid or thinks of them as a princess.

Fucking press those charges and get them expelled.

It's bullshit. These news outlets are terrible. Just re-victimizing the boy every time they show it. Awful.

I also like how the school isn't doing anything because it happened 'off school grounds'. Certainly didn't stop them from disciplining kids who smoked weed off campus.

Or online bullying for that matter.

Is this supposed to offend me? God forbid I ever start to give a fuck about an internet comment. How about you grow a set of balls and stop getting your panties riled up over words on a message board honeybuns?

Clicked on the link expecting a news clip.

Got barely censored child pornography that was made to embarrass the target on national news. Eughhhhhh.

Oh for fuck's sake. You're embarrassing yourself with this ridiculous tirade.

What happened here was wrong. Sexual assault, even. That doesn't make the video child pornography. It's wrong for news outlets to show this, but if it was child pornography they wouldn't be in the first place. Not calling the video child pornography does not infer that one condones or downplays what happened. If someone was unsatisfied with the censored version and wanted the uncensored version, then you'd have grounds for your moral outrage. I swear sometimes it seems like most of GAF has BPD.

I mean, wrong or not, he presented the notion that people are considering anything showing genitalia to be child pornography, using this "squirrel" video as an example. A reasonable person would have then explained why they do or do not think that simply showing genitalia qualifies. You intellectually dishonest fucks grabbed your pitchforks and pretended that he was equating the events that took in each video with each other, deliberately ignoring the sentence right before the one that mentioned the squirrel video.

Whether or not we think it qualifies is kind of moot when you consider how serious the authorities are about it.

Whether or not you think it qualifies isn't moot when what I'm actually talking about is the frothing alarmist bullshit being used to attack FTH. There seems to be a disturbing trend on GAF that if outrage is justified, then taking your outrage to as much of an extreme as possible is perfectly fine, rationality be damned, because you're either with us or the enemy.

I'm sorry, but the people calling this video child pornography obviously aren't capable of judging this kind of topic objectively. I retract my previous statement of "sexual assault, even" after actually watching the OP's link, and no longer worrying about meeting the crazies halfway to get my point across. Yet again we see signs that much of GAF has unresolved childhood issues.

I'm a fucking adult, and if I watched this video (other than what I already saw in the OP's link), I'd be disgusted by what they did to him, and not conclude that I just watched child porn.

These girls were cruel in how they treated this boy. It's the kind of thing I might expect bullies to do to when younger than this (in fact I've seen several similar pranks/bullying among boys at the pool when I was a kid), but obviously they have issues that need to be worked out if they are engaging in this activity at this age. Making the leap to looking at them as sexual predators is going too far, if you can ingest that notion without jumping to the conclusion that I'm making light of this. I just can't imagine that their motivations actually lined up with that of a sexual predator. It's more about them choosing nudity as the form of ridicule for their cruel bullying.

This is nothing more than extreme skanting.

anyone rememmber skanting?, U'd be standing relaxing and some jackass would zone in behind you and pull your trousers/undies down, this is why i always used the lace tie when i was younger.

People wanting these girls locked up, get the hell outta here with that shit, putting kids in prison/secure accommodation is not the answer.

Thank. You. At least someone here understands. I didn't have the fortitude to explain myself to people disrespectfully insinuating that I'm interested in child porn, so I just chose to leave the discussion. But at least someone here isn't a total bloodhound when they read news like this.

I swear its like people read bad news and then look for the first fleeting sign of someone making light of it instead of saying the same outrageous shit as everyone else. Fucking ridiculous.

Men & women will never, ever be treated the same. I don't think that's necessarily a problem.

Media suck for showing the clip.

Exactly. I honestly think that if a group of older boys were doing this to an 11-year-old girl, it would be a clear sign of more severe issues than what we saw in this video. Men and women's minds are different in some ways, and nothing will ever change that. I see this as pure cruelty/bullying (that is severe enough to be dealt with seriously), but I honestly (and I think, accurately) would be much more disturbed by the behavior if the genders were reversed.

Your right. If the girls remained in the kitchen this would of never happened.
If you're going to put words in my mouth, at least make them interesting.

It's 'you're', not 'your'. I'd never have made that mistake.

I don't know what an apt punishment would be, but they shouldn't be treated differently because of gender. And I agree that men and women will probably never be treated the same, and social injustices will never be eradicated, but the perpetual war against inequality must never end, as is fundamentally damaging to society and the individuals within it.

And with that, I'm out of this thread, because I already see where it's headed. I need to learn to stay out of religion/gender/sex/sexuality/"race" threads.

If English was my mother tongue, neither would I. Plus you are not one to comment on my English considering what the below poster spotted.
Ahem, the second correction was yours too. I'd have said 'would've'.

Anyway, I'm not going to rag on you if you're ESL, I guarantee I can't speak your language as well as you speak mine. All I'll say is that you attribute a lack of respect to my position which I do not appreciate. Just because I'm not on the 'men & women are equal and identical in all ways' bandwagon, that doesn't mean I'm disrespectful towards women.

it's up to the kid if he wants to press charges, otherwise he got pantsed by the older kids.
this isn't as serious as it looks, he's not going to need therapy, he's not going to wilt and wither, but if I were him, those girls would definitely be talking to the cops at least.

You trying to imply I am? I merely took the most extreme example I knew of male/female divide and used it for comic effect in response to you. Do you not have a sense of humour? Secondly what is this "position" of yours, as I do not see one.

No. A woman took it :(

except those stupid girls filmed it and uploaded it on the internet to humiliate him even more. i don't think jail time is the answer but i would give them some kind of long community service.

What the fuck? I have no words. Poor kid :( Can't believe no one saw it or bothered to help the poor lad. Eurgh

But he is a kid, I think we can treat all kids the same.

I kinda agree with you, BUT I don't think we should stop trying to be blind to gender when it comes to these types of things. Macho bullshit aside, blokes get as fucked up by these things as women do.

Really, newscaster? You started your filed report with "It's a prank some would say went too far"? I'm all for impartiality but that's some mealy-mouthed nonsense talk right there.

As for the school not disciplining the girls, my middle school threatened my friends and I with detention for playing D&D at home because we lived within a mile of the school and our DARE officer was adamant that D&D was a bad influence. None of that is a joke. So my school was certainly overreaching its authority, but the school these girls go to are too afraid of a lawsuit to do anything. Even if it happened on school grounds they probably wouldn't do anything.

In a just world, these girls and their families would have to move to another goddamned state just to try to escape the scorn of their community. But in the world we live in, I don't think anything will happen without charges being brought against them. Which part of me wants to call overkill, and another part wants to happen whether or not the mom wants to press them.

The child who we are not identifying is a 5Th grader at Ray Pottorf Elementary.
We're not going to identify him, but we will be showing the video. Surely none of his classmates will realize who it is and make fun of him further...

Kids gonna be bullied that much that he will probably hang himself or someshit..

I don't think the kid will do to well knowing theres a naked video of him being bullied by a few girls going around the internet/news, he may only feel he was one way out.

a grim way.

Fuck these kids(not the boy). Fuck the news station for broadcasting that vid. Fuck the mom for not pressing charges, that's basically condoning the act.

Mike G.E.D. said:
lmao and the video finds itself on television.

ridiculous.
Someone at the news station must have saved the original video and is in possession of it considering they blurred out certain parts and put it on the air. Why isn't someone there or the entire news station being charged for having child porn?
