I suspect the idea has many origins amplifying each other. First of all historical, tattoos were something for a lower economical class, sailors, criminal gangs, prisoners, slaves, then you have the regular bible comedian Leviticus (gays are evil and can't eat shrimp guy) proclaiming that God doesn't want people to mark their skin, so instantly religions are already condemning it, these things shouldn't play a factor anymore today but they are a feeding ground for current prejudices.

Motorcycle culture is associated by society as people with loose morals and since they make use of tattooing it gets viewed by outsiders as related.

Tramp stamp doesn't need much explanation, I think it was mainly popularized by female artists that represented a type of counter feminist movement that embraced the idea of women as a sexual object.

Then there is porn, I doubt the proportion of porn stars with tattoos is that much different then the general public but while nude it's way more noticeable and easily remembered so it's easy to get the impression it's more prevalent. I suspect the basic idea that porn stars are more promiscuous is as flawed.

And there is always the underlying psychological interpretation of virginity, purity, grace as mocked ITT previously, tattoos must imply these are the bad, naughty girls.

From personal experience tattoos usually indicate women that are more on the alternative side of life and have a much greater fascination with art than average. They can be shy, they can be very spiritual, they can be the opposite of one night stand material. But since they are the minority most won't be exposed to them so the prejudice lives on.
 
Maybe its just me, but I find girls with tattoos of pin up girls incredible hot.

A girl at my gym who was maybe a 6- 6.5 out of ten into I saw her really slutty/trashy/hot looking pin up girl of little red riding hood. That put her up to a solid 7.5 maybe 8 in dimmer lighting.
 
Like most tats, awesome when they are new, fresh, and the girl is in shape.

Give it a year or two and shit happens.

Nah, I'd still love them. Hell, last person I met with a tramp stamp describes herself as a sex legend or some shit. No qualms with that.

What stereotype? I didn't say that's how they are. I said maybe some people like tattoos on girls because they THINK that is a sign.

Edit: Looking back, I didn't properly word my first statement. I thought I typed the "think" part, when I didn't.
 
I saw a girl with a dog paw tattooed on her neck, it was the sexiest thing ever. I have a tattoo myself but I'm a not fan of too much tattoo.
 
If the girl is hot and doesn't look like an idiot, I don't really care either way. I do have to say that an amazing tattoo can make her a bit more intriguing, though.
 
Like everyone said, it depends on the thought, effort, and quality of the tattoo in order to pull it off.

A friend of mine used to decorate her wall with pictures of alternative models and I thought they looked awesome. I always wanted a pair of collar bone tattoos myself :'/
 
Nothing looks better than bare unblemished female skin. If I'm with a naked woman, I want to see unstained skin. I don't get turned on looking at a picture of a deck of cards or other stupid shit nor do I want a dragon or goldfish staring at me.

You can never get a tattooed woman completely bare. I want her naked!!!!!

Well, if nothing else this thread has exposed/me to some excellent tattoo work. I wouldn't want that level of ink on my skin, but some of these chicks are damned brave.

That dude with the Angel tattoo. That's the most badass tattoo I've ever seen!
 
Vehemently against tattoos on women. Best case scenario is that they're tolerable and worst case scenario is that they actually make the girl look worse.

Outside of the half-sleeve those tattoos are awful.

Also that gurl has a nice ass but damn I like my ladies with a nose.

geez I didn't realize how many people here take tattoos that seriously. Having tattoos ruins a girl? Really? Maybe a horrible tattoo, but still that's a bit extreme

I prefer bare skin, not ink. If it is maybe a small one that is barely noticeable, I wouldn't care that much. I don't see how an entire arm or leg of ink is appealing.

I can definitely dig tattoos on a girl. Except for lousy tramp stamps.
