Why the fuck do people keep starting threads like this? It seems like theres always at least one on the go.

I don't understand why a person enters a thread to announce to everyone that they don't like the thread. Great, you've registered your disatisfaction, now please step aside to allow the mature, level headed people to debate console sales and industry trends. This is NeoGAF. This is what we do.

The problem is, big games on the 360 are different from big games on the Wii. And even if it wasn't, I think Nintendo can hold their own on the Wii front.

I wouldn't say I'm "so worried" I only have like 3 posts, well 4 now in this whole thread. The Gamecube thing is funny to me because I see way more similarites between the Wii and GC when it comes to third party support.

PS3 has a few quality titles, the two genres in this case are platformer and shooter
Wii has a few quality titles, not as many as people would hope, but more variety.

1 action RPG (Zelda: TP)
1 shooter (MP3: Corruption)
1 Platformer (Mario Galaxy)
1 Puzzle (Zack and Wiki)
1 Sports (Wii Sports)
1 Aquarium thingie (Endless Ocean)
1 action/sandbox sorta (No More Heros)

i'm going by gamerankings averages here, only because it's the only "quality proof" i can provide to someone without a good knowledge of X360 library.
In X360 top 30 there's 10 shooters (meaning every game in which your character uses some kind of gun -heck, the number even includes geometry wars- although putting bioshock, orange box, graw and cod4 in the same category isn't quite accurate).
Then you have

Mass Effect
Action Games
Dead Rising
DMC4
Racing Games
Forza 2
PGR3, 4
Burnouts
Beat em ups
Virtua Fighter 5

Tons: to quote Wii Sport as a quality sport game and claim there's no such quality to be found in X360 sport lineup shows some obvious bias; i'm not even interested in videogames about sport, but even i know there's many good ones.

Still going by the top 30 list there's a rather obscure (to me)
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Then there's many good XBLA games, like hexic and lumines
Sandbox games
Crackdown definately is the best thing gta has inspired
not listing GTAIV, yet, but it's just couple months

There's quite a few good JRPG's
Beautiful Katamari, besides not being terribly different from ps2 prequels, is a good game
Viva Pinata, Ace Combat VI deserve to be on the list too.
it's definately not 'decent to ok' games by any means.

x360 is only lacking a good platformer and some proper Arpg

JP: PS3 distant second place in JP from first place with the PS2.

NA: Dead last with the PS3, and that doesn't look like it will change anytime soon.

EU: Too close to call still. 360 has the advanatge in the English speaking countries, PS3 in the rest. But in the non English EU countries seem, PC gaming > consoles I hear. Then there is that Wii thingy.

Well, according to Shane Kim the console race is over and he's declared himself the winner. The reality is relative I suppose. Do you consider a console that's #3 in Japan, #3 in Europe and #2 in the North America to be a success?

I think it peaked at a low ridge, it'll probably finish around 25 - 30 million depending on when MS brings out the next console

Sony has confirmed that UK PS3 sales have topped a million units, while sales of the system have outpaced those of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 for the past four weeks.

Sony UK told MCV that the PS3 has sold a million units in the UK since launching on March 23, 2007, while sales monitor ChartTrack confirmed that the console had reached the milestone sales figure faster than its predecessor, PS2.

Microsoft is going to continue struggling in Europe until the bother to market their games. Their key game, Halo 3, was only advertised on and off TV for about two weeks max.

Basically. MS completely lost their price advantage when Sony brought out the 40gb SKU, on the positive side they actually started to make profit. I expect another 360 price drop before GTA IV, but probably only another $50 max.
