Glenn Beck to End Daily Fox News Program

While I don't get home early enough from work to watch his show I do listen to the radio broadcast occasionally. And while, I don't agree with everything he says I do love how absolutely enraged people get at him. My vote for most entertaining public troll.

I can't stand listening to beck talk for more than a minute. He has this whiny bitch voice that makes him sound like hes crying that makes me want to punch him in the face.

He's not leaving Fox entirely, but he is leaving the daily program which probably takes a lot more effort to produce and write. The whole "variety of projects" thing is just a way to say "we don't hate each other." It really means he is going to focus his efforts on either more stuff on his own website(s) or spend more time with his family. Which is why I said he's apparently making enough without the hassle of the daily show.

I'm sure Fox would have been happy to work on negotiating an extension, but I'm also sure that both sides are probably happy with not going through that negotiation.

I was implying that it wasn't his choice. He's not leaving voluntarily; his show was canceled, essentially.

People realize that "work together to develop projects" is standard boilerplate for "there's might maybe still be interest in doing some work together later, we're not burning bridges." right? It's not some locked in plan where they have shows in mind already, etc.

I kind of admire Beck. He went from being a hack morning zoo dj to being some one with some political pull and making crazy money.

Well, just as much as Fox was happy to see his show contract end, I get the feeling Beck probably had the same feeling. But without any insight into the "inside baseball" aspects of the relationship, it's hard to say. Doesn't really matter in the end, I suppose.

In related news: The Daily Show will now lose 30% of it's content, and the ability to use chalkboard gags.

Although tonight's episode should be good at least.

This is Fox washing their hands of him, the future projects line means bridges aren't being burned so he can still pop up on O'Reilly every once in a while.

Beck has built his own little slice of the media pie with the radio show, his online endeavours, books and what not.

If he can make some bank off of Beck University and the Blaze and some books and have basically editor-in-chief powers, why wouldn't he get rid of the show? It might be his most visible outlet, but like a previous poster said, having a lot of eyeballs don't mean jack if you can't sell it to the big advertisers, and the bog boys wanted nothing to do with him.

What is Beck University?

Or that he'll work as a correspondant/contributor to a whole bunch of different shows like o'reilly, hannity, and fox & friends.

So when is Fox going to start supporting him in his journey to start his own network?

because it's going to happen.

Only read the thread title, eh?

You do understand that vague plans to work together in the future is basically just keeping the door open and almost never amount to anything?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO. How am I going to prepare myself for the post apocalyptic third world that Obama will turn this country into? How am I going to organize all the Christians in my community to fight back George Soros and Sharia Law now?!??!

Remember to DVR every episode and share them with friends and family because every show is going to blow your mind. And always remember to do your own homework and never take him at his word.

Frank Conniff of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame...

Glenn Beck leaving Fox News. Now the only place to find crazy, dishonest commentary on TV is every other show on Fox News.

Holy shit.

I miss Beck back in the early 2000s before he was famous and such a conservative shill. Actually it is probably before he converted to mormon or amish or whatever he is. He used to be pretty funny.

Yep I listened to him when he was in Tampa before he went to the big leagues and he was funny. He still had some of that before he got his show on Headline News which was when he really started to change to the crazy radical conservative he is known to be now and when I stopped listening to him. He's become a joke himself now.

Meh, between the rest of Fox News' batshit insanity and Michael Steele, The Daily Show still has plenty of conservative crazy to work with.

The Daily Show/Colbert Report will be sad until his new show comes out I'm sure. Maybe his PR tour will make for good material?

I guess the fact that the raped and murdered a girl in 1990 is not doing any wonders for his career.

I don't like Glenn Beck, but this is such a stupid rumor. There are literally no facts behind it at all.

Dude's a nutjob but when you wiki his life story you can't blame him (for his craziness that is, not this nonexistent rape and murder charge)

Pretty sure it's just a meme. Stolen from Gilbert Gottfried no less.

It's a meme, no one believes he did that.
