I was going to refer to your post in a very derogatory manner. Instead, I'll be a nice guy and ask if you thought about your post before you posted?Fireblend said:Very often? Have you ever checked their labs page?
The key too google's success is how they are continually pumping out new projects no one cares about, but every so often one catches on and it becomes a "full feature".

It just screams "Web 2.0". Lots of people hate that shit.
Believe it or not, many people prefer a minimalist approach - part of what made Google's original search so successful.
None of it points to improving the interface, spam filters, searching, increasing storage space or attachment limits, etc. None of it points to improving GMail as we use it now. Is it possible Google has some awesome new thing that will revolutionize email? Sure. But even if they did many people would still prefer the current version.
It's like Nintendo announcing a new Zelda game.
People will bitch that it hasn't changed enough.
People will bitch that they changed too much.
And people, like you, will bitch at people for bitching.

I assume the announcement is related to this. Seems to be a section showing results for your search query relevant to your gmail contacts.
This is what I'm talking about:
