There was a bit of focus on Yolanda yesterday.

Another great episode for the show. Owen being confused for Lauren never got old. Hahaha

It's back!

Loved yesterday's episode. TO was hilarious with the singing. And Piper's New Yorker accent had me.

So I gave the first episode a try when it premiered and I remember feeling like it was trying to ape Community way too much. How is it now?

Go On is what NBC wanted Community to be. A lot less "out there" with it's concepts but still has some ridiculousness to it. That's about where I'd draw the line though.

Really? I'll take a look. So Community Season 1 vs. Go On Season 1?

The consistency from episode to episode is fantastic in Go On. And every character is likeable and hilarious, no one feels out of place or overdone.

Unlike Community which was always a rollercoaster in quality in all sorts of aspects.

But the two shows are just too different to compare.

Yeah, this show is a homerun for Perry. Every character is freaking awesome. Even Yolanda.

Man the ragging they did on her was awesome, secret meets and all.

waiting for simone to go away

She is radiantly gorgeous. But it seems she's gone for now.

But what the hell, man.

There has to be a crossover between Community and Go On.

I want to see a conversation between Mr K. and Abed (S1 abed, preferrably :P).
Or Ryan and Jeff, lol.

(Edit: now that I think about it, Lauren and Brita would be hilarious as well, for all the wrong reasons...)

Weird, I never really thought that Go On was similar to Community.

In fact, I felt that, unlike Community, the show played it disappointingly safe in the first couple episodes. I kept watching though, mainly because the cast has a ton of charm and I love Matthew Perry, and boy, was it worth it.

It hasn't been able to reach the level of Community's very best, of course, but it's been much more consistent.

That ending was so beautiful, Ann and Ryan sending their wedding rings together using balloons...

It's so rare that you get to see heartwarming moments like this on TV that aren't directly linked to a romantic relationship, I found it very refreshing.

For a second I was horrified thinking they were gonna hook up, then they pull off that glorious ending.

Well played, Go On. Well played.

Oh yeah. Wonder if she and Steven will start something.

I think that would be a nice direction to take it. I mean, the typical route would obviously lead her to eventually end up with Matthew Perry's character but it would be very nice to see them avoid that in this series. I actually kind of liked the hints at him possibly ending up with his Assistant. That or ending up with Simone after he's gone through everything he needs to, to be balanced again.

I agree.

But not on the Simone part. :p

Not a bad episode. Courteney Cox's character being completely psychotic got a good laugh out of me. Widow!

Also, starting next week, Go On moves to Thursdays in the post-Office slot. Win!

Behind NBC's highest rated comedy in a much less competitive timeslot? I'd say so. Plus Thursday night is where you want to be when you're on NBC.

True, but it was on after The Voice before and it bled viewers. I think the audience that watches The Office is much more likely to be retained. I just see this as a good move for long-term stability, mostly because it's likely it will stay on Thursday nights next season.

Caught up on the last two episodes. This show's really found it's voice in the second half of th season. Perry's doing the best kind of role that he's best suited for, and the other characters have found their places.

The only thing that bothered me is that the actress they cast for Janie is in her 20's. Putting aside the whole age difference part, how long am I supposed to believe these two were even together? The show's entire premise would hold more weight if they had been married for 20 years or so.

Sorry for the old quote, I only just found this thread. I checked IMDB and she's 29. When my wife turned 29 we had been together for 9 years so it's long enough.

This and Cougar Town may be the best sitcoms on TV right now by a country mile.

Plus... your wife's your wife. No matter how long you've been married, the person you love most in the world dying is awful.

Deck Inspector

"And if Fausta could spell in English, I'd be wearing a very offensive shirt right now."

I love this fucking show. Most laughs of any sitcom right now.

And I can't make up mind: Carrie or Lauren? :|
