Goat Simulator is heading to Steam!

That alpha footage killed me with the skype and facebook message. I checked my laptop, my other laptop, my phone, and my ipad to see if someone messaged me on skype or facebook.

Google reaching for any connection in its ads based on page content and it found this

Don't overlook this market and its potential expansion content possibilities, Coffee Stain Studios!

Wait, is this actually real, will this be released? Because it looks like a lot of fun, and I'd love to buy this.

This kind of wacky thing is what makes gaming great. Something for everyone, and I'm looking forward to the insanity of being a goat.

Reminds me of the zaniness of Jeff Minter. Now I'm off to find an emulated version of Ancipital and get a heads up playing as a goat again before this launches.

Disclaimer

Goat Simulator is a small, broken and stupid game. I t was made in a couple of weeks so don’t expect a game in the size and scope of GTA with goats. In fact, you’re better off not expecting anything at all actually. To be completely honest, it would be best if you’d spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat.

FAQ

FAQ:
Q: bro are u srs

A: Yes.

Q: When is the release date?

A: We don’t have an exact release date yet, all we have for now is Spring 2014. However, when we have an exact release date, we’ll announce it and post it here!

Q: Will there be multiplayer?

A: Sadly no, Goat Simulator is a very physics-heavy game, and that wouldn’t synchronise well in multiplayer.

Q: Mac/Linux?

A: We don’t have any plans for Mac/Linux support at this time, but if it’s requested a lot, we might add it after release.

Q: I have an idea! Add open world and police and animal control and spaceships…

A: Goat simulator was made as a small game jam game and that’s how we want to keep it. We will polish the game up (but keep the funny bugs of course!), but we want to keep the core gameplay small and silly. Hopefully the game can make you laugh for an hour or something. We are, however, working on Steam Workshop support so people can edit in their own levels in the game!

Just in case anyone wasn't sure - this isn't going to be an early access game on Steam. When it's released it's going to be the "Game".

Looks fucking awesome

It's probably going to be kinda shit though, let's face it. I think that's why the dev put that disclaimer up a few hours after it went up for sale - some people are getting carried away!

Release date: 1st of April

Steam support is probably the most defining and important part of Goat Simulator, it means that we can add Steam Workshop, and let players not only make their own goat, but also their own levels, props, missions, and more. People are going to make levels filled with 10 000 explosive canisters, headbutt them with a goat, and make the game crash. And that will be glorious.

Goats are the only animals with an innate sense of democracy. ThatÂ’s why they're called "Nature's President."
