Guys, this was one of the most technically impressive game showcases in existence. The sense of scale, lighting, cohesion, etc is stuff we would have shit our pants over 20 years ago.
Yes, it's very mainstream, but it looks like a wild ride immediately. Lots of R2, but this is the start of the game. It's going to have cutscenes. Them having R2 in them doesn't detract. It's still just a cutscene.
I got air combos so I'm happy there. Combat looks fun and it will no doubt only develop from here.
I went in expecting to roll my eyes and skip most of it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enthralled the entire time.
It's so easy to be cynical, I'm just as guilty. But sometimes you have to reexamine where that's coming from.
I expected to dump on this and they changed my mind.
Count me pleasantly surprised.
