GOG DRM-Free Time Machine Sale

Stop upvoting this. >: ( I have nothing against Might & Magic, but I want to get out of the 1980s (and through the sale) as fast as possible.
Upvoting only adds a second. What you're seeing is people buying the pack (it adds three seconds to the timer).

This is ridiculous. Why people need to add seconds? Is not like it is in the last couple mins; there is more than a hour so they can check out or think about it.

Every time someone buys it it automatically adds 3 seconds. It's just selling really well is all.

Probably worth mentioning for the new page, but time is automatically added upon each purchase. So if a title is selling a ton, it'll be around for a long time, even if it's down voted (as a purchase counts for +3 seconds, and a up/down vote counts for +/-1).

I have never played nor even thought of playing any of the Might and Magic games. What are they all about, what's the gameplay like, and is there anything I should really know about them?

They are first person RPG's where you create an entire party of adventurers and explore huge worlds filled with dungeons and adventure.

Some of the greatest RPG's of all time and absolutely worth a look.

Ugh, limited "sale" again. No thanks, GoG. I'll just wait until you put them on a normal discount for digital titles. :/

Yeah, the extremely time-limited nature makes it very difficult to buy from them if you actually have to, you know, work for a living. -_-

Wonder how much Spelunky is going to be...would rather have the Steam version, but I saw it on their banner for this, so I know it will be on sale towards the end.

King's Quest went by way too fast. I checked and it was Ultima, did a couple things around the house and it was might and magic, which is apparently here to stay.

World of Xeen (MM4+MM5) is the best PC DOS era game. The pack is well worth it for it alone.

How playable are each of the 6 nowadays? The new 10th that came out in the last couple weeks looks great, and I don't have a problem with the graphics of the earliest ones in this GOG pack, but I'm guessing from screenshots and knowing older games that the UI and controls might be a real mess...

Might & Magic 1 is pretty archaic. No sound or music, really basic graphics and no automap to speak of, entirely keyboard driven.

Might & Magic 2 improves on the audio/visuals a bit and adds an automap, interface hasn't changed.

Might & Magic 3 - 5 all use the same engine and feature a much improved interface and VGA graphics. This is a good starting point for most people.

Might & Magic 6 in terms of interface is as good as any modern game.

This is a cool idea with the "games through history" angle. I hope there will be some Wing Commanders in the early to mid-90s.

It appears GOG has come up with a sale model such that the sale may never end. I was kidding about Planescape earlier, but if it went up, how long do you think the 2 hours would last? A week?

Bought the Might and Magic 6 Pack. Loved 7 when I didnt even read english.
Love the "Each purchase add 5 sec to the timer" system. Made my registration to GOG stressful as hell.

Neverwinter Nights 2 could last forever, considering how hard it is to find, and how quickly it went in the last sale.

Just in case any new GOG users are reading this, GOG has a dozen games available for free in their catalog and some of them are pretty decent. Worth claiming on your account, at least.
