GOG Fall Insomnia Sale [Limited quantity sales!]

I wonder if they're going "Oh my God, we're selling so many copies!", or if this is just par for the course on their sales.

Copies go down, fast, but I wonder if they's how fast games sell anyway (well, perhaps slightly slower).

With all the digital distribution services and sales, how do you guys keep track of what games you own?

Typically all my games are on Steam, Origin, Uplay (damn you, Rayman), Desura, or GoG. Any other games (Humble Bundle or Indie Royal games, that aren't on a platform) get forgotten about. It helps that Steam lets you add custom shortcuts (as well as grid icons), but that doesn't help for uninstalled games.

And often, during Steam sales, I'll go "Wow, that's cheap!", try and buy it... only to find I already own it.

I'm gonna ask this again since things are slow ATM, has anyone had any issues using paypal at checkout, I bought BG2 when it was 1.99 and got a Paypal receipt email for it, but no gog email, and the game isn't in my inventory.

After that I grabbed my card and just filled it out on gog for the next few purchases and got emails right away and those games are all in my inventory instantly.

Excel. I used IGN's database for a while, but it's incomplete... the same goes for pretty much every other such service. But with Excel, I can track all that shit myself, and make graphs and pivot tables and shit.

Nope. Have bought AC1 and HoMM3 with Paypal. Transactions have been successful.

If it doesn't show up after a while send them a email. I had a issue like that before when the site was getting hammered and it automatically showed up a few hours later.

Right now it's probably par for the course, but previously before the repeats when they have less quantities of games, popular games can be sold out in less than a couple of minutes.

This sale really is genius.

Limited time so people are going to have their eyes on the site, limited copies in order to trick people into believing their is some kind of scarcity which compromises their judgement, and low prices.

I wonder whether GOG snatched that greek economist from Valve. :)

I will admit, the sideboob on the Spellforce 1 cover tempts me to buy it .

Apparently, Spellforce covers are the equivalent of romance novel covers for PC gamers.

I had no issues with paypal. Only issue I had today was a order error message that required me to try to finalize my order again before it went through. If you got a paypal receipt I think you should contact GOG support and be prepared to show them proof that you purchased the game. I would expect no problems from them.

I agree. The lack of knowing what game is coming next is also what makes people stay on the site. (It is also preventing me from getting any work done)

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm sure it's just cause they were getting hammered.

But just in case I just sent them a support request with all the info from the Paypal receipt email.

Retro City Rampage for $3.74

Nobody buying it.

And at this point I'm not really paying attention to these things since the titles are either stuff I don't want or goes by so fast I don't even get a chance to put in a pay order form for it.

GoG should make it time-limited (15mins to 30 mins, 1 hour to 2 hours) instead of quantity of sales.

You only need to get the game in your cart, after that there's no need to hurry. I managed to get everything I wanted, even the crazy stuff like BG2 and Torment. But I agree that there should be a time limit for slower stuff.

Nobody wants Retro City Rampage. GET OFF THE STAGE. BOOOO HISS.

I almost want to say this is worse than Jack Keane 2 or Omerta only because those showed up early on and everyone was in more of a mood to laugh.

An hour ain't shit. Wait until you get a real show stopper woot-off style.

Someone let people know that RCR now has DS4 support with proper Sony prompts.

It's been stuck a while on that one :/

I already have the infinity engine games and NWN 1 and 2 but I would love to acquire a bunch of stuff like Might and Magic, Syndicate, Phantasmagoria, the Gabriel Knights games, Ultima VII, Legend of Grimrock and Theme Hospital. Hopefully I didn't miss those.

Just when I get back, a slow game shows up.

It is. Jack Keane 2 or Omerta did not last nearly an hour like Retro City Rampage is.
