GOG Fall Insomnia Sale [Limited quantity sales!]

Aaah, why did I buy nwn2?
...
with all those classic rpgs (and my backlog) I can easily skip the new console generation
... and don't have to update my pc
...
yay?

Yeah already grabbed, now I'm just sort of curious, people seem to be really hyped for NWN2 but not so much for 1. I still have the option to buy Icewind Dale since I lucked out due to an error.

I haven't played one, but NWN2's vanilla campaign is okay nothing great. The reason I bought it is it's expansion Mask of the Betrayer is supposed to be fantastic. As well as finally replacing the disks I lost a while ago.

Yeah even the popular stuff slows down towards the end, then again... there were a lot of copies.

I always assume it is because people don't want to be in the pay screen and miss a freebie. Even if you have no chance of getting the free ones anyway.

Also ha Total Annihilation is up and that was the other game I was hoping for. It is like the GOG people are reading my posts.

Miami Hotline kinda sucks, at least for me because it crashes at the very start, tried it three times now with the same result.

They probably should have cut out one of the cycles. Have one with limited quantities to catch impulse while showing the catalog, and a second with increased quantities for those who missed the games the first time around (and are glued to the screen waiting for repeats).

I've only recently bought Total Annihilation full price, seeing it on sale makes me so sad...

I managed to snag it for free.

Don't Starve is a great game and everyone should buy it. Exploration/survival/crafting with lots of modding potential.

GOG Christmas sales have typically discounted every game by 50% or more.

GOG Christmas sales have always been a straight 50% discount. That is why buying during the weekly promotions at 60% used to be the better option. Except now GOG shifted things up recently and last Christmas had all of those combo daily promos throughout the Holiday season. I expect that again this year, and they are likely to be much better than the normal 50% off almost everything Holiday price point that will still be running.

Well I think I am done with the sale I got NWN2, Total Annihilation, Baldur's Gate 2, System Shock 2 and some impulse buys. So I am happy with my haul and I can finally get back to doing more productive things.

The devs have also regularly being updating the game with new content since release, so you'll get look forward to that as well.

I only go for 75% or more! Too bad Outcast wasn't part of the sale, got CDs but I kinda want to replay it.

Also bought that one recently, no higher resolution options and my mouse acting all strange had me uninstalling it at blinding speed.

C'mooon Anvil of Dawn. Granted, I could just pay the 6 bucks now and be done with it since I almost dropped that amount on Eador last night (probably would've been a mistake), but it's the principle of the thing.

I still want Thief but being in Europe I probably won't be awake, if anyone wants to throw it my way if it shows up... :(

I got 11 games this sale, NWN2 being the costliest of the bunch, you damn people roped me into buying it! Double dipped on Psychonauts by accident and Deus Ex for the soundtrack (or so I told myself), some were simply digital upgrades for my CDs. Seriously missing free games they could at least thrown one my way.

Skipped on Larry despite liking adventure games but never seemed to have grown to love the series, I think I still have 7's CD and the smell scratch thingy. It's going to be fun revisiting some of the titles down the line, but I'll have to get used to the old school graphics. It's kinda amazing how much they're charging for these old games though lol.

Well I managed to get Torment yesterday but no such luck with NWN2 and TA. Was watching it all day and those two games went up while putting the kids to bed. Argh.

I like to think of it like I'm paying less for the games (though I am paying for the games) and more paying GOG a curation fee. They put a lot of work into keeping these games playable + providing all the bonus goodies.

So with my NWN 2 purchase I now have every Obsidian game and I've beaten the others. Should I play the whole game, or just go straight for Mask of the Betrayer? I'm leaning towards whole game, since I've waded through their least inspired effort (Dungeon Siege 3) and enjoyed it.

I found the main campaign quite enjoyable, try it at the least.

People should buy Don't Starve for advanced beard growing technology:

Aww. Do I have anything to look forward to?

Depends on what you're looking for. With point and clicks I think Syberia might be the only one left (not 100% on that though).

Not sure if this has been redeemed yet, but someone can try the code while they're staring at the screen.

I'm sort of surprised they made so many copies. I don't remember it selling really quick before and it was lower quantities.

It sold much faster than this before.

Yes, it sold faster but it was also much much lower quantities and it still didn't sell super fast. Increasing it seems like a disaster like it currently is.

Just jumping into this sale now. Have I missed everything?
