Alright, so in a few months me and a mate are travelling around America, spending about 4 days in each city. We were hoping some of you guys could help us out and list some fun, unique, relatively cheap things to do for a couple of 20/21 year old English lads :)

We're starting in Toronto, then moving on to Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Yosemite, San Jose, Los Angeles and San Diego. We're doing a lot of the obvious things like Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls and visiting Alcatraz, San Diego Zoo etc, but any other cool things you could recommend would be amazing.

Thanks!

Well I'd recommend Montreal if you want to try something different in North America, but it's not on your list.

Why fly in to Toronto and then see absolutely nothing else in the east before flying all the way across the country?

I wouldn't go to Toronto, I would start in Montreal instead there is more things to do. We have the jazz fest and fireworks every day in July. If you like to go to clubs the nightlife is better there is so much more to do. The girls are really beautiful here too. Then afterward go down to New York.

Niagara Falls is a couple hours from Toronto, so I assume you are renting a car?

CN tower is worth visiting in Toronto (Well as much as any building is worth visiting). I personally love zoos, and the Toronto Zoo is one of the better ones in the world. Maybe not as famous as San Diego, but they have a lot of cool animals there.

If you have a car rented, and want to save some cash, get a hotel outside of Toronto itself. You'll save $50 a night easy.

I think you should come to Sudbury. We have this really big nickel and it's just incredible really. It's really big.

My mate is doing a big W shape across America, I'm just joining him for this part of the trip.

Some cool suggestions, Hockey Hall of Fame is ideal, my mates a huge NHL fan. Will look into Montreal too!

And no, we're not renting a car, flying/AmTraking everywhere. All the transport and accomodation is prebooked so we're just working things between them.

Toronto - Jays game, Hockey Hall of Fame, Canada's Wonderland amusement park, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Zoo is one of the biggest in the world

Also hit up Niagara Falls for the day

If you are in Toronto during the Canadian National Exhibition you might want to check that out, its a bit crazy and out there but they do have an air show the last 3 days of it..........jet fighters FTW

I reffed a lacrosse tournament in sudbury a few years ago. Doctor says I got nickel poisoning and cannot ever return.

I also had the best BLT ever from subway. The fellow working literally grabbed two handfuls of bacon for the sub. I actually had to ask him to take some off.

Since you're going to be on the western coast of the US, go see Yosemite National Park. Its one of the most beautiful places in the US.

Nevermind, saw it mentioned in the OP.

Redwood National Park is pretty cool too.

You should swing through the Midwest a bit. Chicago is a great place to visit. Fantastic food and tons of fun stuff to do.

And since I feel obligated to mention at least one place in my home state, I'd recommend Cedar Point, if you like roller coasters and such. It's incredible.
