To me they serve absolutely no purpose, they look ridiculous, have little or no advantage or the standard weapons. Not even James Bond could make them cool.
These pieces of shit are everywhere in multiplayer gaming, worst part is they're usually sold as DLC or are rewards for high amounts of playing time logged. Seriously this is what they want us to aspire to? It's a fucking insult, not a worthwhile pursuit.
I find it even more distasteful in single player, guess what you're on a super secret mission that relies on staying undetected as much as possible would you like this gold plated piece of junk that can be spotted at a distance easily by any enemies on lookout.
Or better yet in Red Dead Redemption, we all know there is no way a man like John Marston would be seen with some as ridiculous as a goldengun. A bad as cowboy would refuse to use such a gun.
Even more insulting is when they are made more powerful than the regular versions of weapons, we are being punished for having actual taste, it's disgusting.
