Good Japanese games that never made(/will make) it to the west

I fixed that for you. The Sega that could release such games is dead and buried :(

The other 2 Scenarios for Shining Force 3,

etc.

Tengai Makyo: The Fourth Apocalypse
Angel's Poem (Tenshi no Uta) I & II
Whatever Tales games that I want on my PSP (all!)
Legend of Heroes Sora No Kiseki series on PSP
Super Robot Taisen series (on PSP!)

So yah, more PSP conversions please....

I used to watch Captain Tsubasa a lot as a kid... the game was never released in Europe, what is it about? Just a soccer game?

This is off-topic, but I wished Nintendo would've brought Panel De Pon here untouched, with Yuka Tsujiyoko's music intact (and the other composer).

They changed it to Yoshi NES and Tetris Attack.

It is a game similar to Castlevania, but much harder.

If you remember the cinematic intermissions on Ninja Gaiden 1-3 (NES), imagine a Soccer RPG whose battles are comprised of cinematics like those only.

Only Japanse DS game I played is Ganbare Goemon: Toukai Douchuu Ooedo Tenguri-kaeshi no Maki. At the time it was really awesome, and I always wanted Konami to release it over here. Made good use of the touchscreen too.

Some gameplay

Looks like most of my choices are spoken for already.

Kinda surprised noone's mentioned Idolmaster yet. ;)

Tales of Destiny Remake (PS2), one of the best RPGs of that generation. Too bad 95% of GAF has never touched it :(

As always, I'm obliged by my avatar to say it:

Gururojichanpu!!!! aka Guru Logi Champs by Compile.

I really enjoyed what I played of Otostaz for PS2 as well...

A couple others on my mind:

Rhythm Tengoku (GBA)
most of the bit generations series (GBA) (I personally enjoyed every one except for Soundvoyager)
Umihara Kawase (SNES, PSX)
Band Bros. (DS)

Not sure if it was good, but it always looked cool:
Giftpia (GC)

That's all I can think of right now, work has my brain tired.

This is true! Tales of Destiny Remake was awesome. AR-LMBS = love and sex.

Not Japanese, but I'm pretty sure DJ Max Portable will never see the light of day over here, and it's probably one of the best handheld rhythm games I've ever played.

Odd that shows an empty post for me.

Oh wait, I had temporarily blocked all images from Wikipedia. :lol
Pray tell, WHY did you do that? Sounds like a pretty random thing to do :lol

Tales of Innocence, All the Sakura Taisen games, and many more.

Screw you Japanese publishers, it is like you don't want extra money.

Maybe Namco-Bandai will pull a 180 and announce a localizaton of Tales of Innocence... :(

I want alot of the ones mentioned, mainly Shining Force III 2&3.

But oddly missing from your lists is the best SRPG on the Megadrive. Langrisser II. Amazing game.

Most everything I've thought about has been listed. I'll just add:
-Rumble Fish
-Hokuto no Ken (Arc fighting game and PSX beat-em-up)
-Spectral vs. Generation (might possibly suck)
-International Edition Square Games
-3D free roaming Jojo PS2 fighting game
-That Namco strat rpg looked pretty good. Can't remember the name, though.

Namco X Capcom? Or are you thinking of another game?

Why was Persona 2: Innocent Sin never released here? Was it because of ghost Hitler and homosexual overtones?
