Good time to buy an Xbox One?

He's also asking for game recommendations guys

It's worth picking one up imo

These are the exclusives worth checking out

Ryse
Ori and the blind Forrest
Gears 4
Recore
Halo 5
Halo MCC
Quantum break
Sunset Overdrive
Dead rising 3
Dead rising 4
Forza 5
Forza 6
Forza H 2
Forza H 3

With the Forzas I would just get the most recent iteration of each.

I'm pretty sure it'll reach 99.- here in Switzerland at least once by the end of the year. That's when I'll probably buy one and then cross my fingers that Gamestop does a 99.- trade-in offer for the Scorpio half a year later ;)

I'd wait a little bit, at least for the Scorpio price.

Obviously wait until E3, but as someone who bought an Xbox One a year ago and sold it, I'm just gonna say no. For me, I was in a similar situation where I owned a PS4 but was interested in the few exclusive games coming out and already out on the console. I bought it, and while I liked KI, Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 and 3, there was nothing else I wanted out of that system that turned out to be good. Recore was quite disappointing to me and we all know what happened to Scalebound.

Regardless, wait for E3, but if nothing else interests you, I'd say no. Also this is just how I feel on the exclusives for the console (not counting PC because I can't afford a good one).

Wait till E3 for announcements. I would probably wait for Holidays for great deals especially since the Scorpio is coming out. The S will be really cheap by then.

It is the absolute worst time possible, and I'm not referring to the pending Scorpio. We're under a month from E3, so I would hold off on any playstation or xbox hardware purchases until then.

No. Wait until E3.

I see this happen every year around this time and I still don't understand why. Always ends with people kicking themselves for not waiting.

I sold my Xbox One a while ago, and I miss the exclusives. However, I'm waiting for Scorpio for sure. Unless I find a new Xbox One S for less than $150.

I want to buy an Xbox One, but I am wondering whether now is a good time.
What are some of the best games I can get with my purchase if I purchase now?
The PS4 and the Xbox one are close to each other in terms of price. I already have a PS4. Just wondering whether I should wait or hold off on my Xbox purchase.

Wait and get a Scorpio if you can afford it. You will be getting better framerates, and better resolution on basically every game, and even have improved backwards compatibility.

If you wpuld rather save the money though, the Xbox One S is still a great choice, especially with the 4k blu-ray and game upscaling.

This is probably the worst time ever to buy an Xbox One (well, aside from launch). Even if you have no interest in the Scorpio, it's release could result in a price cut for the original. It's better to wait a week or two and see how it shakes out.

If you want a cheap way of playing 4k games on a 4k TV, wait and see what happens with project scorpio. If you have a 1080p tv and have a computer that's not crazy powerful, Microsoft is supposed to bring Xbox gaming to Windows 10 PCs.

Of course you should wait until you know what Microsoft is doing at e3 before buying anything.

My thing is, at this point if you've managed to not buy one, what would be the point of getting one RIGHT NOW when its quite possible that the S model may drop price. Nothing is happening on xbox at this very moment that necessitates buying one before E3. If they don't announce a drop then by all means, run to your nearest retailer or online store of choice and pick one up( assuming you're not interested in the Scorpio). Hell I'd even say at this point wait till the holidays. There's gonna be some crazy deals this xmas.

So true. 2 weeks away from a bevy of news for both systems. Have patience.

I recently saw a Xbox One S for the first time and it looks pretty sweet... the actual physical console and the UI both looked great. It was the blue one.

I'm with the wait untill E3 group, especially if your interestedbin the Scorpio or if price cuts are announced for the slim.

With gamepass yeah, I think it would be a nice timeframe to jump.

I would just await for E3 since it's so close to see whether you think Scorpio is worth it otherwise get a cheaper S afterwards.

Now. Since the launch of game Pass. You Can play instantly a Lot of games, including Sunset Overdrive and Halo 5 and gears of war.

If you have any interest in Scorpio, I would wait till the details are announced at E3 in a couple weeks.

He just said the PS4 and XB1 are close in price, and you are talking about waiting for the Scorpio which will in no way be close in price to the PS4. What makes you think he wants a Scorpio?

I'd wait for the Scorpio release. Base XONE is approaching the 100€ price among second hand sellers
I want to get it as well, the only downside is that I'm buying every system under the sun and barely using them, I still have to play those 360 exclusives I bought my 360 for a year ago. Although, with a XONE coming in my house soon, I might hold on and play them on x1

Also, I'm waiting too. I want to get back into Ki, try out SO and in general see what I have been missing. But I probably won't get Scorpio if the entry price is to high, but a sexy OneS will do fine for me at the right price.

Let's go e3!

Everyone will want a Scorpio. They just don't know it yet. ;-P

Hoping for a price cut at E3 or something like that. Been doing plans to get rid of my 360 and but a X1, last week's BC sale was perfect for me. It's mostly for a small tech upgrade, I could possibly end up buying a PS4 instead.

Ori and the blind forest, Forza Horizon 2/3, Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5 if you like multiplayer, Killer Instinct if you like fighting games. That's it for "must have" games.

Then there are Quantum Break, Gears 4, Ryse, Halo Wars 2, Forza 6, Recore etc...

Try phantom dust for free too.

Now. Since the launch of game Pass. You Can play instantly a Lot of games, including Sunset Overdrive and Halo 5 and gears of war.

Which will also be in effect if he/she waits another 2 weeks. Game pass isnt going anywhere, so theres no rush to buy a unit now.

Try on eBay. I got an Xbox One with two controllers, a Kinect sensor, The Division, Rainbow Six: Siege, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Black Ops 3, Battlefield 4, and a still sealed copy of Halo 5 by winning an auction for €205. Everything in perfect condition, too. I was super happy to win all that stuff at an awesome price, and all those games are right up my alley, too. Except BF4, which is extremely last-gen looking on X1.

A few weeks ago, they had an X1S plus nine digital games for €200-something at Mediamarkt, that's a pretty incredible price.

I would recommend waiting to see if there any special deals after E3 but if you see a deal that you can't resist there are still plenty of games that are well worth playing.

Sunset Overdrive, Ori, Halo 5, Quantum Break, D4, Forza Horizon 3, Killer Instinct, Rare Replay, Phantom Dust is free too.

Then there are some other games that aren't great but are OK with a bit of potential like Ryse and Recore which you might want to check out if you find them for a cheap price.

A lot of them are also on PC if you have a decent computer, not sure how many of them are also on Xbox Game Pass so it might be worth signing up for the free 14-day trial if that offer is still on the table by the time you buy an Xbone. EA Access is also pretty good but you've probably played all those games on PS4 already.

I'am just talking about new games, BC is great but I have already played all of those games.

Unlikely! =)

I discover "new-to-me" 360 games on BC all the time because there are just so damn many good games on 360. The fact that they're there gives more folks a chance to discover what they may have missed the first time around.

Get the OG X1 bundle at Target. It's on clearance for $90-$150.
